As I mentioned in a post and a video, the Republicans really have no candidates for Americans to choose from. It is so blatantly obvious in every means of comparison… dollars raised, poll results, turn out at Caucus events, even the media has turned to lend its favor (by and large) to the Dems now.
But, don’t let them fool you into “their” pick of another Bush Lite.
The pundits like Tweety slather spit all over themselves in framing this election for you… so much so that it has become disgustingly obvious. To the point that it is offensive and an attack on our intelligence and integrity. Even my favorite anchor (and only news program I ever watch on TV), Keith Olbermann, has failed to mention many of the things that have been dubious, especially when it pertains to Dennis Kucinich (speaking of the hypocrisy of inviting Alan Keyes and then barring Kucinich from the Iowa debate… altho Alan doesn’t even have an office in Iowa at all… his national office is a PO Box).
I see it happening, even with the only example that I respected. Sad, but true.
They do NOT want Dennis’ message spread. They do not want the slumbering southern folk to know about him and will pull out all the stops, should he begin to get a bit more recognition and a following. As a side note, I have tried to dig up some dirt on Dennis (first thought was to find his ex-wives’s comments about him). The worst I could find was a statement that he worked to much serving the people that the marriage didn’t work out. I am happy for Dennis right now with Elizabeth, but I must admit that if his ex-wife can only say THAT about him, he must not have been so bad (hell, my wife says worse of me and there is no way we are getting a divorce).
Face it, we have a huge uphill battle to get the ideal candidate an even shot at this thing, when it is apparent that his message is precisely what America (especially the poor southern American) needs.
But I have put the cart before the horse.
I want to address some of the other candidates who are running and see why it is that the “frame” must have them as the president.
Hillary Clinton appears to be their favorite (or at least the one the press is pushing on America) Democratic candidate (Obama or even Edwards would do, because they are the most likely to continue along the same Big Money lines of doing things… Edwards being the possible exception). One could go through a litany of reasons why Hillary is not capable of handling the position and could point out that she is the most fence riding candidate of all running. But it occurs to me that with around 350Million people in this country, the odds are virtually impossible that she could be the one.
Think about it like this. I personally liked President Clinton and thought he did a good job by and large (there are plenty of things that I disagree with, like NAFTA, lying, etc), but what is the chance that he is actually married to a person who is also so qualified and “special”.
Up until Herr Bush stole the job, I had respect for the office and virtually any person who had held that position (with very few exclusions). Hell, I would have loved to meet and spend time talking to Nixon. However, I would not even shake Bush’s hand, for I believe that I would be associating with pure evil (or the stupidest man to walk the face of the earth). What this man and his handlers (Cheney, Rumsfeld, Rove, etc) have done is tear down the honor and respect the office earned over 200 years.
So, we need a person of integrity and brilliance. A person of sound ideologies and stringent adherence to values and their vote.
What is the likelihood that Hillary is the person for the job? I don’t think she has the qualities listed above (at least to the extent I believe we need today).
I think of her election in Lottery terms: her being elected is the same thing as me walking into a convenience store with my wife, us both asking for a Lottery ticket and us both winning the scratch-off for $10M at the same time (or sequentially, anyway).
It is IMPOSSIBLE that the law of averages would allow that she is actually the “Person” for the job just like you know it is IMPOSSIBLE for me and my wife to subsequently win $10M each. It just don’t happen that way and the last father/son combo should be all the proof anyone ever needs.
We (Americans) need to wake up to what the MSM is forcing down our throats. It is IMPOSSIBLE to swallow, even tho they are shoving it down our throats like water on a water board.
So, let us spit right back at them. Let us turn out in droves and talk to our neighbors and friends/family about what we need in this country… what is right and honorable.
Let us take back what the TV is trying to take away… our control of the government. It is OURS, dammit.
