Buh-Bye PawPaw Fred Thompson

Posted by buelahman on January 3, 2008

Fred Thompson

I looked at the contribution page for the presidential candidates at www.opensecrets.organd saw that Tennesseans have given PawPaw Fred more money than any other candidate (strangely, Edwards was second over even other Republican candidates).

Today we learn that Grandad may be leaving the race… so much for the Republican Party’s “Saviour”. Wonder if God has now moved the mantle over to “Pastor Huck”?

Since I reside in Tennessee, I feel like I am at liberty to say, “Good Riddance, you untalented old actor senatorman.” I hope you do endorse McCain (who may be old enough to be PawPaw Fred’s Grandpa), simply to insure that the anti-Iraq Invasion contingent in America (somewhere around 70+%) will do everything possible to keep that war-mongering imbecile out of office.

From Politico.com this article http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0108/7682.html suggests that Fred may pull out and back Senator McMilitaryCain.

DES MOINES, Iowa – Several Republican officials close to Fred Thompson’s presidential campaign said they expect the candidate will drop out of the race within days if he finishes poorly in Thursday’s Iowa caucus.

Thompson’s campaign, which last spring and summer was generating fevered anticipation in the media and with some Republican activists, has never ignited nationally, and there are no signs of a late spark happening here in Iowa, where even a third-place finish is far from assured.

This reality—combined with a fundraising drought—left well-connected friends and advisers of Thompson Wednesday evening predicting that he will pull the plug on hype and hope before the Jan. 8 New Hampshire primary.

Thompson’s departure could shake up the race more than his continued presence. Friends and advisers said they have long considered it likely that if the lobbyist-actor is forced from the race he would endorse John McCain his former Senate colleague who lately has been staging a political revival in New Hampshire.

“Without a solid third-place finish, there’s no point in going on,” a Thompson adviser said Wednesday. “It was an honorable race, and he turned out to be a good candidate. The moment had just passed.”

A Thompson campaign source said there is “a strong likelihood” that if Thompson comes in a distant third in Iowa, with less than 15 percent of the vote, he would drop out soon—most likely before this weekend’s New Hampshire presidential debates…

Personally, I believe that his candidacy was doomed from the beginning. Conservatives knew then what they know now, they are going to lose the next presidential election (and even much more seats in Congress). They keep hoping for a “Saviour”, but that pig (the ideology of Big Money) is so ugly, no amount of makeup and fine clothes can make Americans want to take it out anymore.

Take a hint, “conservatives”, stand up for what you really believe in and DISOWN those idiots that you allowed to hijack your respectable ideology. You have been made guilty by association, but deservedly so… you have gone along in total submission. Now, even the real ideology is becomming more insignificant because the fools associated with you have tainted your vision.

UPDATED 1-11-08:

“Dr.” Knox Pooley (how amazingly similar his real life is to his Hollywood personna) is determined to hang on like a bad actor on Emergency. Give up the ghost, dude, before it becomes impossible to cover those age spots with makeup.

Pledge Your Support For A Democratic Nominee… Errr, Uhh… Bite Me, OK?

Posted by buelahman on January 3, 2008

Wow! I just received an email message from Howard Dean (my goodness, my heart goes pitter-patter):
Dear BuelahMan,
The Democratic Party has never been healthier. Just look at the vigorous presidential primary we’ve got on our hands. Right now, every one of the Democratic campaigns is working around the clock to become our nominee, and any of them would be a great choice. But when the dust settles and people like you pick our nominee, the real challenge will begin. This time, though, it won’t be a debate of ideas with fellow Democrats. It will be against a Republican machine eager to redeem its losses in 2006, fighting to extend George Bush’s policies for another four years.

We’ve all seen the way they run campaigns, so we have to be unified and ready. We know that the Republicans are going to come at us with every scam they think up to suppress the vote.

In the past, they’ve abused robocalls that hide their true identity, jammed the phones Democrats used for getting out the vote, and purged voters from the voter rolls. We need to be united in order to stop them.

Stand up and show our candidates, our opponents, and the country just how strong the Democratic Party is by joining me in a pledge to support the Democratic candidate for President in 2008 - no matter who wins. When we have a nominee, they’ll know that thousands of Democrats from across the country are united - even if they may not have supported them in the primary.

http://www.democrats.org/GetUnited

Every one of the Republican front-runners - Rudy Giuliani, Mitt Romney, Mike Huckabee and John McCain - would continue President Bush’s failed policies. America can’t take a third Bush term, but that is all the Republicans offer.

They believe that President Bush’s war in Iraq is a success. We believe that it’s time to bring our troops home.

They support President Bush’s pardon of White House Aide Scooter Libby. We believe in widespread ethics reform legislation to clean up the mess in Washington.

They agree with President Bush’s veto of children’s health insurance funding. We believe that no parent should have to worry about whether or not they can afford to take their children to a doctor.

No matter who you plan to vote for in the primary, there’s one simple fact we can all agree on: Any one of our candidates will be better than four more years of failed Republican policies.

Pledge your support for the Democratic nominee in 2008, and then ask your friends to do the same. Everyone - from the nominee to the media to the Republicans - should know just how many people are behind our candidate this year.

Help us make a big statement:

Thanks for signing on,

Howard Dean

My Response:
Unfortunately, the DNC made clear that they could really care less about anything regarding this election process. The proof was in how you sat back and kept your mouth shut in response to the Des Moines Register’s exclusion of Dennis Kucinich in the Iowa debate. You no more want his message out than does the MSM or the Republicans.
If I vote Democrat, it won’t be because anything the Democrats have done, because I consider you a part of the problem. I will vote for whomever I consider the right person, in spite of your efforts to squash your own political party candidate.
American politics makes me want to puke. And the Democratic Party with its piss-poor chickenshit leadership is no better than the neocon monsters. At least they have some balls.

Do The Job You Are Paid To Do, Dammit

Posted by buelahman on January 3, 2008

I received the following email message from Congressman Wexler of Florida in response to my signing the impeachment petition he started and continue to support his efforts in bringing justice to those who have attacked our country from within (the Bush Administration primarily, Dick Cheney as the puppet master).

One of the things I find odd is that Mr Wexler is having to get a bunch of signatures and trying to gather funds for advertisements, when impeachment is their freaking job. We are paying them already to do this, one of their obligatory functions as a paid representative.

I am not faulting Mr Wexler, as much as I am the rest of the sorry bunch of “do-nothings” who will stop or squash any attempt at holding these people accountable. It is obvious that there are virtually no reTHUGlicans willing or able to make any stand for decency and honor or to protect our country from the danger within (which is a far greater detriment than a bunch of pissed off Muslims).

If it is possible, please sign the petition and give. We must hold these people’s feet to the fire. You can bet your a$$ they would do it to you.

Dear BuelahMan,

In my last email to you, I wrote how your support for our efforts to hold impeachment hearings for Vice President Cheney has helped us get some attention from the mainstream media. My editorial was recently published in the Philadelphia Inquirer and newspapers from coast to coast have covered our success. 175,000 supporters have now signed up at WexerWantsHearings.com and the number continues to build.

 WexlerWantsHearings

Over the past weeks, I have put significant financial resources behind this effort, including advertising, multimedia, blog ads, and technical support for WexlerWantsHearings.com. Thank you to the hundreds of people who have already generously supported the cause.

Now, with your help I want to expand this effort.

With your support I want to make a major Internet advertising buy on Google that will guarantee that for the next two weeks, every person that looks up “Dick Cheney” on Google sees an advertisement for our petition. With your help we can own “Cheney” on the web.

In addition, I want to publish blog ads, such as you see to the right, throughout the web to galvanize Americans in support of our cause. (You may have to right mouse click and select “Download Pictures” to see the ad).

It is time to reach beyond those that are regular readers of the political blogs, and expand the number of people mobilized to help push for impeachment hearings. The truth is that the number of Americans who support our efforts is immense and we need to do everything possible to reach out to them and maximize our strength.

I cannot do this without your support, so click here if you’d like to contribute to our work.

When Congress reconvenes on January 15th I will deliver the hundreds of thousands of names we have collected to my colleagues on the Judiciary Committee and I will do everything I can do to convince them to support immediate impeachment hearings. I will also be entering all of the collected names into the Congressional Record and present them to the Chairman of the Judiciary Committee.

The mainstream media has not done enough to cover this effort but with your help we will force the issue into the national dialogue.

Click here if you’d like to help sponsor this effort.

We must now redouble our efforts to ensure that Vice President Cheney and the Bush Administration are held accountable.

In order to continue funding this effort we need your help. Please consider making a financial contribution to help us expand our advertising advocating impeachment hearings for Vice President Dick Cheney. Your help will go a long way toward stopping the out of control Bush Administration.

Click here if you are willing to contribute today. Thanks for your help and keep up the fight!
