When Ignorant Rednecks Speak…

Posted by buelahman on January 19, 2008

… they remind me of this assclown Governor from Mississippi, Haley Barbour.

Mississippians are truly some of the most brainwashed sheeple in this country (I am a lifelong Mississippian, recently moved). You vote the R, no matter that he is an crooked and clueless lobbyist like Haley Barbour is.

Get a whiff of this redneck stench…

Miss Gov. Barbour takes swipe at Democratic candidates

Washington, D.C. — In a speech at the Republican National Committee winter meeting Friday, Mississippi Gov. Haley Barbour refrained from endorsing any GOP presidential candidate but took some shots at the Democrats, especially Sen. John Edwards, D-N.C.”I was worried that it was bad for us that Hillary seemed to be running in the center,” said Barbour of Sen. Hillary Clinton, D-N.Y. “And Obama is to the left of that,” he said of Sen. Barack Obama, D-N.Y. “Edwards,” said Barbour “is running to the left of Mao Tze -Tung.”Edwards’ fiery anti-corporate rhetoric apparently reminds Barbour of the late Chinese communist leader.

As the crowd erupted, Barbour said “I thought that might make Hillary look more new,” he said of her taking a centrist approach. “but I don’t think that’s happening.” Barbour, a former RNC chairman, did not indicate a preference for his own party, saying, “I can be enthusiastically for any of the five who might get nominated.”

Starting The Day With A Cup That KICKS!

Posted by buelahman on January 19, 2008

Ask the wife how she feels about a little bhang followed by some small bhang balls…

For some in Rajasthan’s Rajsamand district, the day starts not with a hot cuppa but with a bhang-laced drink made from cannabis.

At six in the morning, people begin slowly trooping into government-run bhang shops in the district for the drink, made from the leaves of cannabis that grows wild in many parts of northern India.

Bhang ki thandai is the favourite drink followed by bhang ki goli (small bhang balls). The crowds, including from other parts of the state, continue till late in the night till it is time to shut shop.

Chan re chan, mat kisi ki maan, nikal jayenga pran, phir kaun kahega chan“, are the words written outside a shop selling the intoxicant here. “Chan re chan” means to stir the drink vigorously.

“Consumers start coming early in the morning and continue till late in the evening,” said Parmanand, a bhang shopowner.

Most people don’t like calling bhang an intoxicant but a prasad (holy offering) of Lord Shiva.

“Don’t call it nasha (intoxicant). It is the prasad of Lord Shiva,” said Radhey Lal, in his late 60s, cradling a glass of bhang ki thandai in his hand.

“We do not drink alcohol. All we take is bhang, which we consider as prasad,” said Kishna, who is in his early 30s.

Bhang ki thandai is a cold drink prepared with a mixture of almonds, spices, milk, bhang and sugar. Shopowners keep earthen pots of the drink always ready for customers. Though there are no official figures of the sale of bhang in the area, according to estimates, over five kilogram of bhang is sold by a shop every day.

The shopkeepers seem to know the tastes of their consumers.

“We don’t want people to wait, so we keep their drinks ready according to their tastes. As soon as a consumer asks for it, we are ready with the drink,” said Giriraj, a shopowner.

And for those who like their bhang a little different, there is bhang ki lassi, mixed with curd. The cost of a bhang product ranges from Rs 8 to Rs 35.

There are around 785 government-licensed bhang shops in Rajasthan, of which 23 are in Rajsamand district.

On an average, every year 400-450 quintals of bhang is consumed in the state. Shopkeepers are not allowed to sell bhang to those below 18 years of age.

Bhang lovers do not stop at one glass of the potent drink. Long-time drinkers maintain nothing happens to them after one glass, though it is usually enough to knock most people down.

The womenfolk do not seem to object to the men taking bhang. They say it is better than their consuming country liquor.

Would I be a dick if I said I’d like to try a cup?

New Hampshire Election Recount Suspicious

Posted by buelahman on January 19, 2008

From Black Box Voting Forum Bev Harris gives us an update on suspicious activity with the recount. Does one have to be a conspiracy theorist to look at these things and see discrepancy and problems and be suspicious to motive? Am I some “super-sleuth” to suspect wrong-doing?

No worries, say New Hampshire officials when cuts up to eight inches long are spotted in newly delivered ballot boxes. “The only seal that counts is the one on top.”

Except the seal on top can be peeled off without leaving a trace, then reaffixed.

Black Box Voting has been doing a chain of custody exam for the New Hampshire Primary’s recount. On Wednesday night, Election Defense Alliance’s Sally Castleman mentioned a troubling observation: After following the ballots back to the ballot vault following Wednesday’s recount, she had the opportunity to enter the ballot vault, and noticed what looked like cuts, or slits, in the side of many ballot boxes. New Hampshire officials assured us that these cuts, which slice through the tape and seals do not permit access to the uncounted ballots, pointing to a label on the boxtop which they call a seal.

But the “seal” can be removed, like a Post-it, and reaffixed. So it’s not a seal all!

We wanted to know if the ballot boxes were slit while in the vault, in the transport van, or came from the towns with slits in them.

I confirmed this morning that many if not most of the boxes scheduled to be counted today had slits in them. I went out when a vanload of ballots arrived, and saw that they were slit at the time they arrived by van. Susan Pynchon and I drove to two nearby towns and watched as they handed over their ballot boxes to “Butch and Hoppy”, the two men who drive around in the state in a van picking the ballots up. We observed as they loaded boxes of ballots into the van with no slits at all in them. We videotaped each of these up close. They arrived at the destination without slits. The label on the top was affixed, but in some cases was crumpled, or also damaged.

Of cource, the label affixed to the top can be removed and reattached without telltale signs.

No vault tonight

A significant departure from the normal chain of custody path occurred tonight. They decided not to use the vault to store the ballots.

More tomorrow.

Old Soldier (BuelahMan’s Dad)

Posted by buelahman on January 19, 2008

There is no doubt that if I am not crazy as a shithouse rat (debatable) then I SHOULD BE, simply because of my childhood and psychotic family/genes.

My dad (Old Soldier) is a retired Army Lt Col who served two tours in Nam. He was in Korea when I was born, Germany much of the time after that, then two quick tours in Nam (getting divorced from my mom during the visit between the tours). I remember very little of him during those years, with the exception of a few very clear memories.

My dad loves(d) to drink (he finally quit, as I understand it) and was a mean sumbitch when he did. He is not a very big person (I have a few inches and 40 pounds on him as an adult), but acted VERY BIG when he was drunk (most of the time). I remember some of the slobbery, disgusting times when he could barely stand up, but I also remember a couple of extremely violent moments (one in which I awoke as a 4 year old to see him standing over my mom as she laid on the floor, bleeding at 8 months pregnant). She claims he kicked her in the stomach, he denies it. Whatever, the baby died and my mom almost did.

(Let me just say that my mother is even crazier than this Richard Noggin, so who knows what she said, but nothing would deserve this…)

He refused to pay any child support for my sister and I (she is 2 years younger) after the divorce and my mom was “forced” to do some sad and personally destructive things to keep us in shelter and fed (as crazy as she is, she did her best). (My dad met my mom at 16 in Germany. She didn’t know English and he brought her to Alabama, dropped her off at his poor mother’s and went to war.)

He gave us up for adoption when I was 12 after my mom met a good man who wanted to call us his own. He had absolutely NOTHING to do with his children and served his country in highly significant and influencial ways. The Army would not help us, but hindered any attempts at monetary recoupment or help to us. He and THEY (The US Army) turned their backs on its kids.

I could tell you how he manipulated his way back into mine and my mom’s life after my step/adoptedreal dad died in a plane crash… TWICE (yeah, he remarried my mom, divorced her to remarry the woman he left my mom for, only to divorce her to remarry my mom AGAIN). Nucking Futs. But what would be the point?

Oh, I could tell some stories…

And probably will (heh)…

Anyway, this Old Soldier character is still alive and kicking, but back with that other woman again (dumbass). He is one of the most ardent right-wing O’Liely following, clueless individuals who has been totally brainwashed by the system. He wears a cloak of patriotism and the American Flag… talks about God and Country… yet turns his back on his very own… the MOST vulnerable.

Here’s the rub… my mom isn’t very bright and I have been told I am (that is certainly debatable), so I must have gotten it from that crazy, ignorant Old Soldier. What is in store for me?

I will fight with every fiber in my body to be his antithesis towards my daughter, my country and the ideology of false religion and hatred.

What About John Edwards?

Posted by buelahman on January 19, 2008

If you have read this blog, it is evident that I believe that Dennis Kucinich has the best plan and ideology for America’s future and security. The media has virtually silenced him (to their benefit and our demise). But, it is true with other candidates, such as Ron Paul and what is now obvious, John Edwards.

I noticed this early through blog reading (all articles and news segments were basically suggesting that the race is between Clinton and Obama). Most all TV tells us it is so, so it must be true… right? (Turn that SumBitch off, people)

I have said several times that IF I am forced into selecting from the “Big 3″, my selection would have to be Edwards, simply because he is saying what I want to hear (whether or not he will actually DO those things is another story). Obama seems like a strong leader with a great speech, but seems to be flirting with the middle ground too much (trying to attract indys and rogue republicans) and should make more of an effort to address the Big Money issue. I personally believe that Mrs Clinton is NOT the person for the job due to her Big Money ties and lobbyist associations (more of the same, just toned down a bit). Of course, Dennis speaks to the needs of America’s people and NOT corporate interests, which means he is barred from competing, SO, I am forced to look at the other three to see if any come close to Dennis’ ideology (this is not a statement of surrender, for I will continue to support Dennis, but simply a re-evaluation of those the Big Money influences are forcing me to see).

In that light, I thought I would allow John to explain:

An Iraqi War Vet Speaks Out

Posted by buelahman on January 19, 2008

I know several folks who have served in Iraq and the one thing I find is that many are silent about their real feelings. Some are beginning to speak up and I think it is because they have finally realized that these leaders are doing this shit for dubious reasons. But honor requires more than that and these people who serve with honor are beginning to speak loudly and clearly.

As a matter of fact, with the presidential candidates running (except Dennis and Ron), troops can expect to stay where we aren’t wanted simply to make the Big Money even richer. It is NOT about your or my (or an Iraqi’s) freedom. It isn’t about our security. It is simply about MONEY (and YOU won’t get any).
