Born sittin’ on 3rd, but believing he hit a triple. He wouldn’t know what a hard life is unless the Saudi King pulls away his allowance… the hypocritical ignoramous.

There were many more promises made… many photo ops showing how much he “cares”.

Republicans or ReTHUGlicans?

 

If you consider the 21st Century Republicans as conservative, then you are batshit crazy. Real Conservatives are about “conservation”, not what the Faux Conservatives (The Neoconservatives which have hijacked the Party and ideology) pretend to be. Today’s Republicans (especially the leadership) are really ReTHUGlicans (with very few exceptions) who want imperialism while thriving on racism and bigotry.

These “conservatives” could not care less about environmental conservation, fiscal conservatism or governmental conservatism (although their every word promises such). Their opinion of the Constitution is that it’s an irrelevant old piece of asswipe material (and they have not been hesitant to use it as such). They love and seek privatization, but only when related to war profiteering and treasury looting (especially foreign countries). So many of their own are crooks, murderers, perverts and/or crooked and untrustworthy, to say the least. They ignore vote fraud and intimidation, as long as it suits their party, but attempt to intimidate and disrupt thier competition at every possible instance.

They are, by anyone’s definition, 100% dubious and worthy of all suspicion and investigation.

This very same party despises (no, absolutely hates) poor people, the sick and ailing, and the downtrodden. Some would spit in the face of anyone who wants to help these poor folk, especially rednecks down south. They foam-at-the-mouth attacking abortion and a women’s choice, but, fight against universal health care for American children or the rest of us.

Is it ironic or the height of hypocrisy that they like to scream from the street corner that they are the “party of Christ”, even though Jesus was the most liberal man to ever walk the face of the earth? These people are so far removed from His Spirit and character that when and if Jesus does comes back (whichever Rapture theory you want to adhere to), they’ll tar & feather him and send him to Syria to be water boarded before handing Him over to Israel to crucify Him again.

The truth of the matter is that 21st century ReTHUGlicans are not Liberal, nor Conservative, but Fascist to the core of their being.

It is time for true conservative “Republicans” to step up and try their best to salvage what was once semi-noble in their ideology.

More importantly, it is time for rednecks to stop supporting these monsters while they take every advantage of you possible… laughing all the way.

Most importantly, it is time for true Christians to speak up loudly and clearly against what they have done to taint The Christ and His message.

True Christians are nothing like our leaders. It is time to boldly point this out.

My Best Friend

She may not even know I feel this way (although there is a deep connection between us that seems to “know” these things), but I need to tell you about my best friend… a little 4-12 year old girl I knew back in the late 60’s and early 70’s. I talk about those days because it was those tight, but tough times we had growing up together that solidified my “best friend” status with her.

I’m a couple of years older, so when I hit about 14 or 15 I started moving off in my own direction, looking for girlfriends, hanging with the buds, etc. Of course that never stopped the friendship, just that it had become so concrete that we really don’t need to say it (we did hang out some in high school, playing trumpets together in duets… pretty good, I might add).

We can go weeks and months without speaking, but we still “know”.

As a matter of fact, I can’t remember ever even saying to her what I write here today. Maybe I assume too much?

There are ways to judge friendships and surely by comparing those that you have or had, you can figure out who is “best”. Well, to me, the number one characteristic of the relationship must be love… followed by (and actually is enveloped within) trust. Of all the people in my lifetime, this one little girl (now 44) is a person that I love dearly, but trust as much as any other person I know (more-so).

This little girl loves those around her deeply and gives her all in her relationships (many times to her detriment, for she is often taken advantage of). Her daughter is her most important responsibility and love (I am sure). She sacrifices in many ways so that Ms Milla can have the best chance to survive in this world (and I know my darlin’ niece loves her mom very, very much… you can see it in her, even read it on her Myspace page, or hear about the observation from Milla’s friends).

You see, I trust Julia more than all others because of that love we have for each other. Even more than my mother… especially more than my father.

But, I must admit, we are long time partners in crime. We have been taken to jail together when we were both younger than 12 years old (after having a shotgun blast scare the hell out of us).

We once placed tacks across a local road (hundreds) for some stupid reason, then hid and watched as cars drove over.

We started a fire in our back lot (just behind the house in a pine thicket) which damn near burned our house to the ground.

We stole a car when I was 8 (she was 6), a VW, at that, and drove it all over the lakes we lived at… skirting water and almost falling off bridges.

We smoked coffee and tea mixed once, experimenting (nasty).

I almost chopped her head off with a hoe, once and FREAKED out as she bled so bad (it WAS an accident caused by Dennice) we were all panicking (and wrapping her head in the old time baby diapers).

I have shot her multiple times with a BB gun and once threw a dart that stuck up in her head (it was her fault).

The one thing I knew about that little girl (and the beautiful woman she is today) was that I could trust her and she trusted me. When it comes down to the nut-cuttin’, we GOT each others back. When there is no one else we can count on, we know we have each other.

I have so many tales to tell about her (and may do at some point). But this ain’t no book.

I love you, my best friend, Julia Maria. You know that and I know you know that. But I want the rest of the world to know.

Another Day, Another FISA Veto Threat By The Bully In The White House

Yesterday, Bush again put the self interest of himself and his giant telecom criminal co-conspirators above our national security, by threatening to veto the FISA update bill unless we gave them all get out of jail free cards. And if Congress were to bend over yet again, he would still probably veto it to demand even more changes and/or defy other major provisions with a signing statement, as he so outrageously did with the recent defense bill.

We must be just as relentless as the criminals who are working overtime to gut our constitution. We have had two successful filibusters so far, and it looks like we’re going to need a third.

And we need strong opposition in the House too, for that is our last bulwark.

Suppose a bank robber told a judge he had a good faith belief it was his own money. How far would that one fly? What part of NO immunity don’t they get?

The American people deserve to know how far this is gone. We are not going to allow one of the most precious amendments in our Bill of Rights, the protection against unwarranted search, to be swept under the rug. And even beyond that, informed commentators believe that creating the Big Brother database of Cheney’s dreams would in fact invite a nightmare of new national security vulnerabilities.

Dennis Kucinich Is Still Standing Strong

And what greater hero do we have than Dennis Kucinich, still standing strong as ever on every issue that matters. Here is his own leadership statement opposing telecom immunity

The veto threat by the President is just the latest example of the use of fear and intimidation — in the name of “national security” - to secure legislative authority to violate the Constitutional rights and protections of American citizens. I strenuously object to any immunity for telecommunications companies and demand a full accounting of these companies’ involvement to Congress and to the American public. When corporations cooperate with the government to strip people of their Constitutional rights, that is a textbook description of fascism. There must not be any place in America for this type of conduct.

And yet, even now, powerful corporations are pouring money into Dennis’s district, to try to buy his seat out from under him by threatening him in his own primary. They are running malicious attack ads in heavy rotation. Please consider making a donation to Dennis now, to help him fight back.
