BuelahMan’s Redstate Revolt

A Redneck’s Guide To Reversing The Right Wing Brainwashing

Have You Ever Thought, “What’s The Point”?

Posted by buelahman on May 11, 2008

I do. On a daily basis.

I suppose my rationale for this blog is still apt, but as I find other avenues to vent and release my frustration with this country, I meet new people and try to become a team player for the purpose.

Yet, I write a poem and it gets shoveled to the side by the one person I hoped to communicate to the most. I produce 4 videos for a rocking group called Max and the Marginalized, yet it is other videos that get recognition from C&L (and other large sites) even though I am a long time contributer/reader (and I would suggest that the latest is about the same quality as mine).

Very frustrating for me and is telling me that I am spending too much wasted time here at this desk.

I once read a well-known blogger write, “if you blog and no one reads, what is the point”?

Exactly.

I personally read everything you write B-man. I do. Sorry if I don’t comment on all of them. By the by– please pass on this days “Happy Mothers Day” to your wife. Also– I have no idea how to post over on the lrose page! I must be the stupidest person alive when it comes to basic tech. Geeeeeeece.
Get some rest— lol lol… tomorrow is a new day.

    Hey,

No, not you, Darlin’. No matter what we discuss, we hardly ever get angry (at least on my end).

But I was wondering how you are doing today (this weekend)? I’m not even sure if you are a mom (I am stupid about remembering details of other’s lives, unless I know you personally). Happy Mother’s Day, if you are or to any Mothers in your life.

I’ll tell BuelahLady what you said. We had a nice dinner with her Mom. Mine won’t talk to me, so…

As for the rant, it is about the poem. I’ll still be blogging. It is the other shit I think I’ll drop.

That is until I can figure out what I can do locally to get involved. Then I guess there is always jail time.

    :-)

I’m still on light duty this upcoming week. Maybe we could talk on the phone and go through some of the tech stuff? Just a thought.

But, remember to edit a “page” and not a “post”. The rest is the same.

    Hey Ray -

Making sure you know - I love your videos and the one that our recording engineer makes and I have no say over which ones get picked up =/

    Hey Man, Ed here.

Ive been in and out, and usually stop by here daily via the Feed. I read and view your vids, just don’t comment much. Well, this is a topic I am very familiar with. I have been blogging since ‘03. My current blog has been going for right at 2 years now. Just today I posted about my 500th post being a milestone. I related to the reader that it hasn’t been easy. Some of the things I said dealt with people calling me names, telling me my blog was BS, telling me I was an enemy of the state and so on. Other reasons that I did not reveal are, loosing my best friend of 35 years because of my opinion on things, my family thinking I’m nuts, and others distancing themselves from me due to my political beliefs. What I also said was, What made it all bearable for me was that if something I had posted opened some eyes, it was all worthwhile.

You are doing a fine job here. We all get discouraged now and then, but we overcome and persevere as I’m sure you will. I know its hard when you get little acknowledgment towards your hard work. Well rest assured, You are doing a fine job and if one person leaves your site with their eyes opened just a little more, it is worth it. So, keep up the good work and don’t let things bother you, its easier that way, although I know its hard to do.

We’ll see ya later dude……take care,
    Ed

    Hey Bro Max,

I understand and my frustration is not at the band, but at recognition by Nicolle or John at C&L (I have communicated with these guys for years now).

You, your band and the video guy (recording engineer) do great. Just what does it take to get an old friend to acknowledge your work? Your guy does a video and it is immediately picked up. Just a bit of a bummer from that perspective. Now the poetry shit.

    Just frustrating, that’s all.

    You guys are great, Max.

Thanks for the comments, my friend. They mean so much.

    Hey Ed,

    Thanks for those words.

lrose asked me about it last night and I can’t really stop blogging. I think I simply try to get too involved, but I don’t know what else to do.

I talk to everyone I come into contact about the state of this country (those willing to listen… which is the majority).

Besides, I don’t know of too many blogs with the audience focus this one has (I don’t even mind the negative comments too much, for at least someone has read the post and may have learned something).

But I did find out that poetry isn’t my bag.

No whup, but it was disturbing coming from a friend the way it did.

    Live and learn they say.

    Thanks, again, Ed!
