B’Man: Perusing the internet for like minded progressive voices in the SE (I have links to several over on the right sidebar to my favs) I found this site called Cotton Mouth. I like it because everything I read cuts no slack. Calling a turd, a turd, as it were.
I particularly make note when I find blogs that follow more localized (even statewide) politics and when I saw this about someone my family knows (and doesn’t care a whole lot for) I thought it would be worth noting here because just as the last election in Mississippi showed, people are finally waking up from the idiotic reTHUGlican mind control. Hopefully truth, like what Jeff Waters posted will prevail and slap some sense into any others who may be awakening:
MS-SEN: Roger Wicker and the Working Man
As the Representative for the First Congressional District, Roger Wicker posted one of the most abysmal voting records on file. In particular his stance against the working man is what irks me the most. You would think a man from the blue collar town of Tupelo ,with Southern Baptist roots, would have the best interests of the working man in mind when he cast his vote in Washington, DC. Well meet Rubber Stamp Roger, no friend of the working man.
Has Roger ever stood up to the Republican powers that be and cast an important vote outside of the party mainstream? Whatever comes down from the GOP establishment or K Street is Roger’s marching orders. GovTrack, a non-partisan website that tracks each bill and compiles statistics for every member of Congress has Wicker labeled as “Radical Republican”, the most extreme ranking possible. By their chart he is the GOP equivalent of Henry Waxman or Ted Kennedy.
How out of touch with the working folks of Mississippi is Roger Wicker? Just last year he voted against the Fair Minimum Wage Act, which raised the minimum wage from $5.15to $7.25. With the large number of working poor in Mississippi, you would think Roger would vote in the best interests of his constituency. Nope. Roger voted for the K Street lobbyists and the money hungry corporations who think it fair to pay somebody for a 40 hour week and still leave them well below the poverty line. Their god is the free market and they don’t care who gets sacrificed at the alter of unrestrained capitalism. Survival of the fittest.
Let’s keep Roger in North Mississippi. As of a month ago, Wicker had raised 3 million dollars to Musgrove’s half of a million. Ronnie is going to need our help.

B’Man: I was thinking about the subject matter this morning when I found what Ed from Not Another CONspiracy had posted this morning:
19 May 2008
The MSM wont allow you to read or hear of this in the USA.
In this what is now being Called an ‘Opinion’ piece, you will find ‘Opinions’ of others linked within. This isn’t the first report of this type and I suspect it will not be the last, until the Truth Finally is Revealed. Like the JFK Assassination, we may never know the Real Truth.
After almost 7 years you still believe what the Bush administration has spewed forth as the True reasons for the Collapse of the World Trade Centers building 1,2 and 7, you have no Common Sense. Yes I know Towers 1&2 were hit by Jets, Building 7 wasn’t. Yes I know there was Fire in Building 7, and I also know this was the First time in history Fire brought Down a Steel Frame building.
Get past the Jet part and use some common sense. The jets were like a Magicians slight of hand. The were used to distract you from Seeing the truth of what was really happening. Go read the below. Go read and view all the links within the report. If after you have done all this and still believe the Official STORY, go back to sleep because you are dreaming.
ABC Australia: Unanswered 9/11 questions: The collapse of New York’s World Trade Centre on September 11, 2001 is arguably one of the most well documented events in human history. Less well documented is the controversy over why the buildings fell as they did.

B’Man: Even some of the most stalwart progressive writers and celebrities write off 9/11 conspiracy theorists as idiotic, ignorant, fruitcakes, etc. Questioning ANYONE who questions whether or not someone within our government could or would conduct such an atrocity on its own soil. Matt Taibbi (someone I normally love to read) takes extra time to belittle anyone who suspects these monsters of such a thing (claiming they are too inept to carry it out). Bill Maher (another great progressive on many issues) takes time to belittle anyone that questions the neocons on this subject (but he has no problem finding any other subject to attack them on).
I am not sure why this is. Could it be because they haven’t taken any time to see the investigative reports and videos I have combed through for years. Have they conducted any research, whatsoever, that can give them reason to simply brush off what seems so apparent to many people? What would be their motivation to NOT look deeper… to simply agree with the meme that our government “wouldn’t” or doesn’t have the intelligence or wherewithal to do something like it?
How can they simply brush off all the detail and analysis with such abandon?
I can somewhat understand the basic MSM aversion to it, but these guys who normally are all over any mediocre sex or money conspiracy? Something isn’t right.
