Several years ago I just happened upon an audio clip of a recording these guys from Wisconsin had done and I was hooked. Blues with horns and some guitar.

I realize that I think about some pretty oddball stuff at times..lol [some would say ALL the time..lol] but whatever your opinion, it’s me and the way I am– oh well. Hence… this is what I was thinking about today– [aren't ya' glad I like to share? lol lol lol]

This week marks the 50th anniversary of the Peace Sign. The symbol was first used in a nuclear disarmament march in a March from London to Aldermaston, Britain. Around 5000 marchers participated in that particular event.

The simplistic Peace Symbol that most anyone can scribble is actually quite complex. Gerald Holtom, a commercial artist, suggested that the those marching to the atomic weapons research plant in Aldermastoncarry signs painted with a neat, tidy and powerful symbol. There is meaning to each of the lines and the circle of the symbol.

The meaning originate in the words nuclear disarmament – using the N and the D from those two words and a naval flag signaling system, Holtom created the Peace Symbol.

The Peace Symbol has been used as a visual sign of solidarity in marches for anti-violence, anti-weaponry, civil rights, women’s rights, gay rights and movements to stop wars, among many other peace initiatives and human rights issues.

Those who marched and protested for peace were often the victims of violence. Some even lost their lives.

So today – I’d like to say, Happy Golden Anniversary, Peace Sign! I hope that there will come a time, when you can finally retire and rest and we shall not practice hatred and war anymore.

B’Man’s Sabbath Watch: Quitting Church

Have you ever “quit a church”? I have. Several times, for many reasons.

I never quit because my handlers told me to or for any political rationale. I left cause the churchs were man-made kingdoms preying off of the subservient… run by power mongers spreading lies (kind of like Bush, et al). They try to force particular doctrinal focus (ever shifting and changing among the sects) by taking certain words from whichever translation has been manufactured to fit its theology and dominate for people’s money and compliance to their doctrine.

All by the “book” and little spiritual guidance.

So, I wonder why Mr Obama left his church?

None of what has been said is foreign to that church. It is obvious from the participation of the congregation. They were all agreeing and  chiming in (in most cases, so would have I). I probably would have enjoyed many of those sermons… for entertainment purposes, if nothing else. But, in fact, I DID agree with many of the words and sentament preached.

My favorite beer is called “La Fin du Monde” (French Canadian golden ale that packs a powerful punch… 9% alcohol, but is oh, so smooth). Maybe not for those folks who can only drink a dark brew, but this is truly an awesome taste. You’ll never know what hit you…

It means “End of the World” and lives up to its name (if not careful).

In February 1994, after 18 months of research, Unibroue launched La Fin du Monde (the end of the world). It is a 9 percent alcohol, triple fermentation beer. This type of beer was originally developed by the monks of the Middle Ages to be served on special occasions. La Fin du Monde is a deluxe beer made by triple fermentation and a unique way of straining the yeast. This method produces an unexpectedly subtle flavour. With its champagne-like effervescence, it has a vigourous presence in the mouth, which accentuates its strong personality.
