There is fun to be had by all as we pray for the murder of millions of rag heads, so that we can instigate the “end of the world” and cause even more death and destruction than ever thought possible. We are all giddy with anticipation.
This get together culminates in a rapturous taking away of evil, but instead of going up, they are going straight to hell for being the pieces of lying shit they are.

Israel is a classic example of how religion destabilizes the world. The Jews had no legal right or claim to that land. They were removed by the Romans in the 1st century. Was it just? No. But they lost it, and others moved in and established themselves. I have no legal basis for going back to Scotland and seizing the land on which my ancestors lived. The creation of Israel was done purely because an ancient bronze-age book said so. Support of Israel today is done on a purely religious motive. Now, nutjobs like John Hagee want us to nuke and kill innocent Iranians so he can witness the end of the world.
It’s pretty mind-blowing to think that the people who have their finger on the big red button believe that Jesus is coming to destroy the world any minute now, and all they need is a sign to do the will of the Lord. It’s frightening if you think about it.

The thing is that many people living in Israel are in disagreement with their government (just as is the case right here at my blog and in my country). But there is a cabal of right-wing ideologues who are preying off the religious people and pushing them towards this final showdown of good versus evil, so the Christ can be brought back to rapture them all away.
The government simply allows it to provide them the perceived religious and moral authority to continue their “war on terror”. But I will admit that there are even some of these radical religious nuts that have gotten high in government (achieved position, but probably “got high”, as well).
This is the danger Brian points out.
But nevermind all the religious hoopla. There really is no strategic reason for our government propping up theirs or to allow such influence in our politics. There is OIL, of course, but what else could there be?
We have bases all over the ME. Israel is simply NOT that strategically important, except for the fact that we have now armed those crazy bastards to the teeth and they could do the crazy bidding of those who are in control, when need be. So just who is the true puppet-master?
