Sound far fetched? No way it could happen in America, especially with that maniac?

Indulge me.

Our every action and movement of armed services over the last 8 years (and longer) has ended up with us completely surrounding Iran. Even when related to Georgia, you see that we now have another staging ground for an attack (our aircraft carriers are strategically situated to rebel a Russian onslaught in the Black Sea. We have carriers in the Med, in case Syria gets antsy. We, of course, have a fleet in the Persian Gulf and now we are moving troops and supplies into Afghanistan (which completes the encirclement).

We will count on our European allies to help, if Russia decides to protect Iran (its interest).

But there is one mean customer we better beware of and that is China. If China and Russia decide to disallow any American invasion we are in for a very rough ride in the USA, not to mention any retributive terrorist attacks from Iranians or their sympathizers in the USA.

My contention is that it is at the very least possible, but in my opinion, probable, that something is going to happen either before the election or just after (whether or not McCain wins) and before the next term begins. If we are hit with another false flag event, you can bet that Marshall Law is next.

US to invade Iran any day

A few weeks ago the Russian newspaper Izvestia, a well-known and authoritative daily published nationwide and abroad, came forward with something that would have been looked upon as a conspiracy theory if published by a tabloid. The paper suggested that by attacking South Ossetia, the Georgian President Mikhail Saakashvili had badly damaged a planned U.S. military operation against Iran. In the newspaper’s opinion Georgia was supposed to play the role of another “unsinkable aircraft carrier” for the U.S., i.e. an operational and tactical base for U.S. aircraft that would be making bombing raids into Iran. Something akin to what Thailand was in the Vietnam war.

Thailand certainly benefited from the arrangement, and Georgia would have too, insists the paper, if its President hadn’t put his ambitions above the US national interest and ended up beaten, disarmed, chewing on his neckties and totally incapable of providing whatever the U.S. needs from him.

That’s why, according to Izvestia in yet another article on the matter, the U.S. response to the Russian retaliation was harsh in words but very mild in action. The latest on the issue suggests that Mikhail Saakashvili may be replaced any day now by direct order from Washington.

Having read the story in Izvestia I decided to try to figure out the extent of improbability and impossibility of the assumptions. As I was doing that, I remembered that early in August CNN had started showing U.S. generals who cried for more troops and hardware for Afghanistan which, in their opinion, was rapidly becoming a more intensive conflict than Iraq.

Shortly after that, a phone call came from a college friend who had just come back from Kandahar in Afghanistan, where he had seen American battle tanks being unloaded from a Ukrainian-registered Antonov-124 “Ruslan”, the heaviest and largest cargo airplane in the world. The friend asked if I had any idea what tanks would be good for in Afghanistan, and I said I didn’t. It’s an established fact from the Soviet war in Afghanistan that tanks are no good for most of the country’s mountainous territory. They are good for flatlands, and the main body of flat land in the region is right across the border in Iran.

Later in August there was another bit of unofficial information from a Russian military source: more than a thousand American tanks and armored vehicles had been shipped to Eastern Afghanistan by Ukrainian “Ruslans” flying in three to five shipments a day, and more flights were expected.

Somehow all this, together with the series of articles in Izvestia, the information that all U.S. troops in Afghanistan are going to be reassigned and regrouped under unified command, the arrival of NATO naval ships in the Black Sea, the appointment of a man used to command troops in a combat environment as the new commander of the US Central Command and other bits and pieces. To my total astonishment, when they all fell together the Izvestia story started looking slightly more credible than before.

Today the U.S. media reported that there had been a leak from the Pentagon about a secret Presidential order in which President Bush authorized his military (most of which is currently on Afghan soil) to conduct operations in Pakistan without the necessity for informing the Pakistani government. The U.S. military in Afghanistan – or shall we say in the whole region neighboring Iran – is getting a freer hand by the day. And it is getting more and more hardware to play with.

Of course it’s quite clear now that Georgia has lost its immediate potential as a nearby airfield, but after all, the aircraft carriers in the Gulf are not so far away.

Believe me I’m not saying that the U.S. is going to start an all-out war against Iran tomorrow. But aren’t there indications that it may happen the day after tomorrow, a month from now, or on any date before the official handover of Presidency in the U.S.? Or, as some suggest, before the election?

I’m just asking the questions. But there are some people, like those working for Izvestia, for instance, who answer them with a “yes”.

“Nothing But Easy Questions” Says It All

I had seen the other portions of the interview McCain conducted with The View ladies, but decided to view my RSS feed of the third part to see how it went with Cindy.

Several things to note:

Cindy came in and hugged/kissed the white right-wing host and stood distant for a quick nod/handshake with the rest (who are either more centrist or liberal). To me, this stuck out like a huge, uncomfortable sore thumb. She did, of course, hug/kiss the ancient white, right-winged “war hero” before moving on the the plague-ridden LIBERALS she kept at a distance… especially the black ones.

There were softball questions asked and the only semi-difficult question (how many houses DO they have?) was shrugged off and quickly side-tabled by the white, right-wing View woman.

This white, right-wing View woman saved them with ultra praise and additional softball questions/comments any time there was even a minute move towards some difficulty.

And remember how Russians are “Bad Guys” for killing women and children in their invasion of a sovereign country (the ultimate hypocrisy should be maddeningly ire inspiring for anyone with sense). It is embarrassing for me to think that other Americans can agree with such hypocritical sentiment. We should be begging the rest of the world for forgiveness after we get rid of this murderous cabal (that is “IF” we get rid of them… I have an upcoming post suggesting otherwise).

Then, at the last, where Baba Wawa thanks them for their time and the visit, she says, “Tell Sarah Palin how kind we were and nothing but easy questions“. I would imagine so that Sarah will give them an interview and also because the hard questions for McCain are not answerable or accepted as viable answers by the majority of the public when they do get a semi-tough question.

Forgive me, rednecks, but if you still agree with the idiotic philosophy that McCain embraces, then it is likely you are beyond hope and help. It takes an imbecile, at this point, to still support their fear tactics and lies. I know you are out there. I meet you all the time and it never fails to totally blow me away by your stupidity.

Sorry. But I gotta tell you the truth. For your own good.

Yet, a leader within that church can be told the same thing, yet there are legal issues. WTF is wrong with ppl that agree with this bullshit?

The things that Catholic believers fall for, amaze me. Hypocrisy abounds, yet they are vicious in their defense of the indefensible. And please, this is not an attack on the person of faith. I know Catholics who are wonderful people… who care and love for others more than themselves. Yet, when it comes to their leader, they fall all over themselves to defend something that is nasty and certainly UN-Christlike. It is the same for Evangelicals who back the leaders who call for murder and death to Muslims (and there are plenty of these bogusly hypocritical folks to go around, as well). Any religious leader who calls for more wars and invasions and death to anyone in the ME (or anywhere else, for that matter) are devoid of Christ.

Period.

Jail threat for comic who said Pope is going to hell

An Italian comic who said Pope Benedict would be punished in hell for the Church’s treatment of homosexuals could be tried for dishonouring him – a jailable crime under a 1929 treaty with the Vatican.

Sabina Guzzanti, one of Italy’s most pungent political satirists, made the remarks in July before a cheering crowd of thousands at Rome’s Piazza Navona. Her comments were widely published and posted on the internet.

The Church, at the time, expressed its “profound displeasure with the offensive words”, but a prosecutor in Rome has decided the comments may go beyond satire and break a law protecting the honour and dignity of the leader of 1.1 billion Roman Catholics. The law was agreed with the fascist dictator Benito Mussolini.

After reviewing the case file, the prosecutor’s office asked the Justice Minister, Angelino Alfano, for permission to proceed against Ms Guzzanti with an investigation. No answer has yet been given.

“We’re in the Middle Ages,” said Ms Guzzanti’s father, Paolo Guzzanti, who is a conservative senator allied with the Prime Minister, Silvio Berlusconi.

Leftist politicians said the issue was one of free speech. The Socialist leader Bobo Craxi warned that punishing satire would bring Italy close to a totalitarian state.

Among the treaties establishing Vatican City as a sovereign state, the “Cordatato” treaty provided that offences against the pontiff be punished the same way as offences against Italy’s president. Insulting the president is punishable by five years in prison.

Ms Guzzanti, who is famous for mimicking Mr Berlusconi, is a fierce critic of censorship. Her show, Raiot, was taken off the air in 2003 after a defamation suit from Mr Berlusconi’s broadcaster, Mediaset.

But Roberto Castelli, a cabinet aide to Mr Berlusconi, said she had committed no crime. “I don’t agree with absolutely anything Sabina Guzzanti says, much less about the Pope, but I defend her right to say all of the enormous idiocies she wants,” he said.
