Ha ha, yeah, that won’t happen. Anyone who sails with the Nader crowd deserves nothing more than ridicule.
Fuck Ralph Nader, and fuck his supporters. If the past eight years hasn’t smacked any sense into their addled brains, then nothing will. This site caters to the reality-based community. No one else need apply.
Does the “reality-based community” bow to anything and everything that goes against its own interest? Does that community allow our representatives to lie and do anything against its own desires and needs, just so it can become a player in politics, truth and honor be damned?
Apparently so for Kos.
Well, I don’t read the fucked up rag to begin with and I hope that those who have considered themselves Progressives at that shit stain site to wake up to how conservative they are and are just too fucking stupid to understand it.
This isn’t about Nader. This is about Kos being a god damned liar and how fame turned him into another wannabe. This is about how a person has turned his back on the progressive Movement and that person certainly wasn’t Nader.

I agree 100%. He’s a guy with a clever business model who figured out that the MSM and empty band-width created an opportunity for him. I don’t like his gutless style and I certainly don’t trust him to have my back on ANY issue. He’s about fame and money and working within a right-leaning Democratic Party. Good for him. Let him be proud of that. I’m a strong left-libertarian capitalist who believes in peace, freedom, social justice, economic conservatism, care for one’s fellow human, open minds and free-markets.
Broadly speaking, as a gambler, trader, investor, and money-manager, I move money for a living. I’m not ashamed of that. I’m proud of that. That doesn’t take away from my appreciation for the achievements of President-elect Obama, nor does it take away from my believe in the work the Democratic Progressive Caucus and few libertarian Republicans are doing, nor does it take away from my opposition to American imperialism, Zionism, the never-ending “financial bailout” shellgames, nor will it ever take away from my respect for the individual first as opposed to the institution.
Dennis Kucinich, Ron Paul, and Howard Dean, to name three American politicians are the kinds of thinkers on the main stage I like. So is Ralph Nader.

Moulitsas’s ethcity notwithstanding, he’s been horrible on intra-US Latino issues and worse still on South American issues. I don’t care how he self-identifies, I know of whatever his list of self-identities is, LATINO is either way at the bottom if it even makes his list. So, I feel no kinship with him on that one at all.

Thanks, folks. It must be easy to fall for the guy’s shtick since he uses the Progressive platform to do his deed. However, a true liberal (he has been called the uber-liberal) would call any of the right-wing shenanigans from the Demublican Party for what they are.
The sad part is that some of my favorite places (Kos not being one of them) have made their bed with the capitulation and now they are owned by the Dems. Crooks and Liars is one (and if it weren’t for just a few of its contributers, I wouldn’t read or watch there either). Amato took the same bait that Markos took. He is not quite as tainted, but tainted he is.
I hope he refuses the outright attack on the real progressives in this country, the way kos did. That was stupid for he rode their attendance to his site to attain his fame. Then again, fame for what? Being a clueless dickhead?

You know that no one owns THE DAILY PITCHFORK. Ser Cavalor’s THE BOSS but he’s earned that nickname by word and deed. Everybody is under the Boss’s orders to write exactly what they think at all times without fear or favor.
You’ve caught me at a time when my frustration level with so-called “liberal” blogosphere is very high. I detested the Bush Administration for all it’s misdeeds and divisive, authoritarian words. George W. Bush will soon be gone from the scene, replaced by a Democrat. That’s a good sign. That said Democrat is an African-American is an important sign. The fight for peace, freedom and social justice never stops, though.
You will note how all discussion of peace has ceased and in fact it’s now Democrats on Capitol Hill and on the blogs who are angling for more war in South Asia. You will note how there’s no discussion at all about the death penalty or about the US practice of imprisoning children with adults. You will note there’s no discussion at all about health care. You will notice that there has been a stampede AWAY from discussion of gay rights.
Barack Obama is a very reasonable man and has shown that he will listen. That means his supporters have to SPEAK.
What exactly did we witness over the past year? Looks to me like a football game with an historical result but no change to follow.
In all fairness, the main subject is and should be the economy, but peace and fair trade will play a big role in getting the US out of its financial bind. Moreover, the various bailout schemes that pass through the legislative process are riddled with problems and are devoid of real solutions. There are patches and fixes and with any luck the business cycle will take care of itself but the conversation shouldn’t just be left up to the power structure.
I’ve tried to explain to the fake-liberal blogosphere that the world financial community is very diverse. It’s a community 200,000,000 large at the highest levels. That hardly equates to a dozen Jewish guys sitting in a room planning everything! But that’s the horror of the Daily Kos fantasy-world. There’s a cabal of “money-men” and people like me in his and his followers’ process-cheese-food minds are no different than Dick Cheney. There’s a world of difference and there’s a world of differece between me and the Kos fans. I’ve actually created jobs and paid union wages and extra health benefits for my employees without union or national coverage. But my opinions about fair ways out of the macroeconomic binds, fall on deaf ears and I merely get treated with snark or indifference. I’m a big boy. I can take it. But like you, I can hand it out too and like you I hand it out with out any bullshit.
I may have more money than most of Kos’s fans but even if I weren’t interested in the whole palette of civil rights and civil liberties, at least I give a shit that as I’m typing this, somewhere in the USA a 13-year old boy is being given a custodial sentence to be served in an adult prison. None of Kos’s fans could give a squirt of piss about that because it doesn’t affect them.
So, there I times I get so frustrated I want to write “fuck you, then…I don’t give a shit that you don’t have health insurance because it doesn’t affect me and I’m going to go to the pool now for a quick swim, a couple of cold beers, some tunes and a suntan…” But I don’t do that because I care about their indifferent asses, too. Even if they can’t be bothered to care about anyone else’s.
There’s a terrible compassion deficit on the fake liberal-sites. Just as bad as the chickenhawks who are all about the flag and “winning” but are too scared or too lazy to serve their country.
I’m in favor of peace. At least, though, I have the courage of my convictions. I don’t want to hear about any “surges” or “winning”. I want to hear that the US military is safe and I want to hear that US’s veterans’ benefit is not merely sufficient, but instead DELUXE. That’s my kind of military appropriation. The US has enough ordance to defend itself. Rarely are those issues on the liberal blogs’ agenda either because they dig that the new President and half of the Democratic party approves of the wars of choice just as well as the outgoing one and the other party did.

Like Limbaugh since 2003, Markos has become utterly irrelevant since 2007. There is something that tests the mettle of every politcal writer/commentator/radio or TV personality whether they are Liberal or Conservative. At some point there is a choice between fame and Truth. It came for me during the Civil Rights Era in the 1950s and against the will of many of those whom I thought were friends I chose Cleaver, Carmichael, X, Marshall, King, Breathitt, Powell and Evers over Maddox, Barnett, Faubus and Wallace. Mr Moulitsas has crossed his ethical Rubicon and taken the thirty pieces of silver. He is famous but now without credibility and that is death to any Soul that takes the matters of politics serious on Terra or any other world.

Well, Boss, I’m lucky I guess because I started doing this after I “got there.” The only other similar thing I did was pieces for RISK MAGAZINE [P Field (RIP 9/11), M Westlake, P Eavis were my occasional "bosses"] in London on derivatives and oil. That also was past the time I could be bought.
I do this for love not because I gotta. Fred will tell you what it was like on The Chief’s reservation. Every kid was like me. We were all taught that making money and giving a fuck were not mutually exclusive.
I distinctly remember my grandmother getting pissed-off and saying (I’ve lost too much of the old tongue) “Podhoretz, feh, his father was a COMMISSION baker, you know what that is?” I didn’t but it didn’t sound too savory. I think it was a guy who bought excess of real bakers and sold day-old.
But I think “Soul On Ice” and “Die Nigger Die” probably made Cleaver and Brown more money than Maddox ever made! And wasn’t it better to be more like Vidal than like Buckley? And isn’t it great being called The Boss?
