Lost in the property tax bubble ‘gum’

Posted by Lynda on April 18, 2009

Well… my little ole’ house, which is over 100 yrs old and rebuilt 80% after the 03′ tornados took it out– soared in value during the bubble, as well as my county hurrying and setting my property taxes sky high. POP!!! the bubble went, druggies moved in next door with their 9 pitbull chained watch dogs and trash that would make the city dump jealous– and my value dropped like a hot rock! Further than it was before the soar. BUT did my taxes change??? Hell no. So far, me about a zillion other citizens are trying to figure out what exactly to do. What fun our country is having don’t ya think. geeeeeeeeeeeeeece. Lets see– war over? nope. healthcare addressed at all? nope. troops home? nope. national Intrastructure being worked on without pork barreled paybacks? nope. people loosing jobs? yep. Commerce slowing down? yep. suisides up? yep. I could go on, but shant.

Obama’s Latest Lie: Gaining “Nothing”

Posted by BuelahMan on April 17, 2009

Nothing will be gained by spending our time and energy laying blame for the past.”

How many of you Obama Maniacs agree with this sentiment?

Even the Obama supporter, Keith Olbermann has taken the man to task over this obvious lie and coverup. Other favorite bloggers of mine, like Jonathon Turley have not cut Obama any slack whatsoever (deservedly so). Many others are awakening to the fact that Obama appears set on protecting the Bush Administration from their illegal activities (which is baffling to me, unless I accept the notion that he is carrying forth the bidding of others).

I must say that one of my other favorite bloggers made a comment that I am in total disagreement with (one of the few times in years of following him). Glenn Greenwald wrote:

There is an unhealthy tendency to want to make categorical, absolute judgments about the persona of politicians generally and Obama especially (“I like him”/”I don’t like him”; “I trust him/I don’t trust him”) rather than case-by-case judgments about his specific acts.  “Like” and “trust” are sentiments appropriate for one’s friends and loved ones, not political leaders.  A politician who does something horrible yesterday can do something praiseworthy tomorrow.  Generally bad people can do good things (even if for ignoble reasons) and generally good people can do bad things.  That’s why I care little about motives, which I think, in any event, are impossible to know.  Regardless of motives, good acts (releasing the torture memos) should be praised, and bad acts (arguing against prosecutions) should be condemned.

I couldn’t disagree more about the “trust” thing. I believe that it is imperative that trust be held in our politicians, especially the POTUS. As a matter of fact, I believe it is near insane to think that trust is unimportant or only appropriate for friends. Trust and likeability have nothing whatsoever to do with each other and marrying those two “sentiments” together is a mistake.

My complaints about Obama have nothing to do with “liking” the guy. But it does have a tremendous amount to do with “trust”.

It is ludicrous to spend our time and energy with folks that we don’t trust to do what is right for this country, in my opinion. In this case, Glenn is way off base.

Also, contrary to Glenn’s article, motive couldn’t be more important. It is imperative that we understand motives of people, just as it is in police work or attorney work. It surprises me that Glenn, an attorney, would take such a view (but maybe I misunderstand where he is coming from). I see a bit of his point, but from my experience of watching pols for 40+ years, their every motivation appears to be self-protection or a scramble to keep the status quo. If particular powers have been grabbed, it is unsurprising that those are kept by the next administration (no sense losing powers already stolen by another).

Understanding the motives of the Bush Administration’s illegal torture activities; the rationale and lies used to take us into Iraq, and yes, even the motivation of why Barack Obama would cover up these atrocities is extremely important. I’m blown away that Glenn says this stuff.

Glenn continues:

In the United States, what Obama did yesterday is simply not done.  American Presidents do not disseminate to the world documents which narrate in vivid, elaborate detail the dirty, illegal deeds done by the CIA, especially not when the actions are very recent, were approved and ordered by the President of the United States, and the CIA is aggressively demanding that the documents remain concealed and claiming that their release will harm national security.  When is the last time a President did that?

Its simply “not done”? But why? To lie more? To cover up the atrocities?

Of course it is not done, but that doesn’t make it right. Nor does it give me any warm and fuzzies with Mr Obama, just because he did the “right” thing. Give me a break. What he did is what was legally obligated and what is needed for this country: complete openness. He deserves no extra slap on the back for doing what the other corrupt predecessors would not do.

He finishes with:

George Orwell mistakenly assumed that obfuscating language designed to glorify criminal acts would be invented and normalized by government.  At least in the U.S., that function is outsourced to government’s most loyal and eager servants:  establishment journalists.  A principal reason why the government has been able to engage with impunity in the extremism and lawlessness of the last decade is because most journalists refuse even to describe it as what it is.

Of course these establishment “journalists” are carrying the water for whomever in in office. Even more reason to “trust” the guy they are reporting on, since we can’t trust them. The issue is that they are all corrupt and have agendas that do not have anything to do with helping me. They are protecting themselves and tearing apart our liberties and protections as American citizens.

Sorry, Glenn, but it has come to the point that without “trust” there can not be any real allegiance to him or anyone in government. To think otherwise is foolish.

What’s The Worst That Can Happen?

Posted by BuelahMan on April 17, 2009

This story tells it all. A young mother with two children who was lied to about her mortgage and now is about to lose her home, after delving into her children’s college fund and now her son is going to join the Marines. He saw the TV commercials and website and it looks cool.

And he asks, “What’s the worst that can happen?” (said with a sadness that tears my heart out, for you can tell by the look on his face that he KNOWS precisely what the worst that could happen would be). They all know:

Road to Ruin: Burned by Brokers

“Hopefully this will be my way out to a better future.”

That says it all, doesn’t it? That people are relegated to an only choice of joining the military.

This is no accident.

Gene’O Must Have One Of Those “Men Crushes” On This Old Redneck

Gene’O, I don’t swing that way (not that there is anything wrong with being gay).

Of course, in this financial mess, if you were to offer me enough money, I may let you suck my pecker. (But then you would have to remove Barack Obama’s first.)

Do you have a big mouth? You’ll need it.

America’s Anti-Christos?

Posted by BuelahMan on April 16, 2009

Why would we give Israel more financial and military assistance than the rest of the world combined?

I think the answer is clear and it has to do with the Empire. After hearing the facts presented above, can anyone truly argue that the policy is even keeled or fair? What do those of you who are motivated by religion and a wrongly translated Bible have to say about the aid given (primarily weaponry) in such a disproportionate amounts? Do you think that Jesus held a warm spot for Jews over Gentiles? Do you honestly think that The Christ has preferences for Jews or the land now being called Israel over any other living soul or place?

Methinks your religion, preacher man or Bible has your priorities and understanding of the Savior’s own words decidedly backwards. And hence the problem.

If you religious people understood that Big Military uses your Sheople-like following to progress an agenda that is totally antithema to The Christ’s message and rationale for His death, you would stop this undying support for their agenda. It is as if you have become anti-Christs, meaning that you believe shit that is anti Christ’s message, yet still think you are following Him. You have replaced the real spirit of His message with another.

Did you know that αντί + Χριστός is derived from two words that have been virtually always used as “against” Christ or “the opposite” of Christ, but the word αντί also can mean “instead of” or “in place of” (as in a replacement)? It is also NOT capitalized and is NOT a proper noun (as in a name). It is the spirit, or demeanor, in which one lives and acts.

What most folks who call themselves Christians have done is replace The Christ’s message with one that is not His message, at all. Yet, you have no clue that you do this.

John penned long ago (supposedly):

“Little children, it is the last time: and as ye have heard that antichrist shall come, even now are there many antichrists; whereby we know that it is the last time.”

The sad fact is that there are so many now that you have become them… totally replacing His word and instruction with that of those who perpetuate death, murder and chaos. And you do it with such vigor, as well.

Holding Haley Barbour Accountable

Posted by BuelahMan on April 14, 2009

How in the world do you rednecks put up with him? Of all the things I miss about Mississippi since leaving, that nincompoop isn’t one of them. He is an embarrassment to Mississippians, and the saddest fact is that most of you don’t know it or care. When Haley vetoes the Stimulus money, there can be but one reason, he is running for higher office of some sort. I can’t wait until tomorrow to write about his pardoning a guy who shot his wife to death with a 12 gauge shotgun on a street corner in Mississippi. Don’t let me forget to mention that he once worked on the Gov’s staff, as I understand it. Or the fact that the Mississippi Senate felt like some sort of law be passed to have a citizen watch group have a board to question these idiotic “pardons”.

But don’t let that blubber filled lobbyist get away with his criminality. You can do something.

There is a new  campaign by the Mississippi Center for Justice that allows you to sign a petition to make Haley fully aware that we are watching and know better. There are far too many Mississippians that are dependent upon whatever stimulus money they can get. Unlike Haley, most Mississippians have to work for a living and are not dependent upon lobbying efforts to make us rich, like most of the elitist wannabes that prance around, walking as if they are important or something.

The fact is that Haley works for YOU. You must figure that out and stop putting that embarrassment up on some sort of pedestal (unless it is a witches pyre):

Petition to Governor Barbour: Accept Stimulus Money

Mississippi Center for Justice launches national online petition in favor of stimulus

Mississippi Center for Justice launched an online campaign, “Standing With Mississippi,” designed to inform Mississippians—and other friends around the country—about Governor Haley Barbour’s intended rejection of nearly $60 million in Unemployment Insurance benefits provided to Mississippi as part of the Federal stimulus package.

Standing With Mississippi” encourages people to voice their support for providing every available dollar to Mississippians who have lost their employment through no fault of their own.

As the poorest state in the nation, Mississippi can least afford to put partisan politics ahead of people’s basic needs. Mississippi desperately needs its rightful share of the stimulus package. The money that Governor Barbour is rejecting will help 39,600 hardworking families weather this recession.

Supporters are encouraged to sign the petition and learn more at: http://www.StandingWithMississippi.org

The petition comes at a time when Governor Barbour has called a public meeting for April 16 to discuss the stimulus money. Mississippi Center for Justice believes hardworking Mississippians deserve every available resource to support their basic needs of food and shelter during such a difficult economic time.

Thermitic Dust Particles Found In WTC Remains

Posted by BuelahMan on April 13, 2009

h/t Dandelion Salad

I know some will try to explain this away, but thermitic dust doesn’t just happen. It isn’t found in all buildings, so the presence of this material only leads to a couple of scenarios. Either there was thermite/thermate involved with this demolition or it was planted afterwards.

Either way, an investigation (a REAL one) needs to take place.

But I bet a dollar to a domut that Obama fights it. Why? Because to unveil the evil master would be his undoing and America would, indeed, revolt.

Doesn’t it bother you that there were no criminal investigations in the worst attack (supposed attack) on this nation? That they didn’t evaluate the steel, but hauled it off for recycling as quickly as possible?

B’Man’s Sabbath Watch: Easter Special

Posted by BuelahMan on April 12, 2009

My wife is in the kitchen early this morning putting little chocolate treats in plastic eggs for our 4 year old, who has already hunted Easter Eggs twice this week (once at pre-school and again yesterday at a local church that invited us to be a part of the festivities).

easter-bunny

"The eggs are screwed, but at least we have dinner"

I don’t enter church buildings very often any more, for a lot of reasons. One of the biggest reasons is that I dislike being a hypocrite, so being a “Easter Sunday” church goer is something that I simply cannot be. Its all or nothing with me and the truth is that I cannot find anything resembling what the Christ taught in any of the churches or from the leadership of those churches. It is essentially mini man-made kingdoms who grab some little tag to use as their pull. As Saul/Paul noted, “What? Is Christ divided?”

Apparently so, into many hundreds, if not thousands, of sects and cults. Divided? Its a confetti at this point.

There were about 25 kids at this event (small church) and they put out over 600 eggs (my 4 year old found 53, which put her in second place to some little punk who had help from his parents)… cheating bastards… (I kid). Now, my daughter has this idea that the Easter bunny is Santa Claus Lite and my wife is stuffing even more chocolate into eggs… wtf?

Anyway, so right before the “egg hunt”, there was this little ole lady who took it upon herself to explain to all these children the significance of the egg hunt and bunnies on this occasion supposedly set up to recognize and celebrate a freaking torture/murder.

“Now this egg represents a new beginning”… “it can be dead or it can be a live chicken”… “When I was a little girl” (tears start falling), “my mother and daddy would take us to church and we would hunt real eggs that were decorated and then we ate them.”

Oops

Oops

WTF??????

I glanced around, looking at the faces of the kids and it was just like driving on the Natchez Trace at night (more deer in the headlights than you would ever imagine possible).

I could imagine them saying in their head’s, “Will you just shut up and let’s go outside.”

I am not dogging their beliefs, but it was clear that the basic agenda was to recruit BuelahLady and I to attend the church. Somehow, they got wind that we used to be leaders in a Methodist church (I actually was the Music Director and Associate pastor… yeah, whatever). In one of those “God things”, their Music Leader had recently left the church to expand her horizons at another church (they had a really keen choir, as it was told). So, basically, God provided a miracle, if we would just come to their church and take over some responsibilities that God gave us “gifts” to do and that we shouldn’t waste them… blah, blah, blah.

But the kicker was the pastor, who came up to me with this little sly, shit-eating grin and said, “You should come to the Easter service I’m preaching tomorrow. The sermon name is ‘Its time for the church to get nekkid’.” He then laughed and explained that he found this one obscure verse in Mark (but couldn’t remember Chapter, nor verse, which I considered strange after his little story).

He said, “I have never heard anyone preach on this verse”.

I said, “I have some teachings that I could share with you that I bet you never heard before.”

I could hear the buzz in his ears as his mind decided that my sentence was unworthy of attention and started right back where he left off.

Look, anyone can worship or go to church or whatever floats your boat. But, there is not a single religious leader in the world that I consider better than myself, in any way or circumstance. I refuse to put The Pope, Mike Huckabee, or even Mohammad himself on any pedestal, when their very followers are crazy fuckers who betray the teachings of the ones they claim to represent.

Comb-Over: Heal Thyself

Comb-Over: Heal Thyself!

I mean really, if Benny Hinn has all those healing powers, why in the hell doesn’t he fix that comb-over? At the very least, that rug needs to be “slain in the spirit”.

Sorry, that is just the way I am.

So, Happy Easter, but beware of the cute little bunnies. I have a niece who lost the tip of her finger to one of these vile beasts (true story).

However, I would be remiss if I didn’t explain that these creatures do taste wonderful in chocolate…

America’s Problem Is Big Money

Posted by BuelahMan on April 12, 2009

Big Money

Lyrics:

listen up my friends it’s time we paid attention

an age old specter knocks upon our door

phantom financiers hell bent on domination

they are closer than they’ve ever been before

it’s Big Money’s plan to own us for their pleasure

it’s Big Money’s plague that blackens all our dreams

where Big Money meets lies hidden from all measure

what Big Money says is never what they mean

—(chorus)

the currency of our lives is being stolen

in some brash colossal prank

together we must stand as One emboldened

we’ll never be free until we break the Bank

mighty bankers huddle high in the City of London

—(end chorus)

gilded sheiks of oil in Mecca ply their trade

Russian runners plump with arms wait for direction

in one conference call a deal for all is made

they sell us guns and tools for war unending

then they armor all our enemies as well

first they promise with their help we shall know heaven

when they reel in their due we’re left in hell

chorus

bridge

it matters not what we believe

how we voted, where we pray

the land in which we live each day

each one of us has been deceived

by money masters, power mad

let’s face the truth, we’ve all been had

they will murder heads of state who call for action

they profit from starvation and disease

Christ was right to turn their tables in the temple

yet even He fell to the power that they seize

Big Money vows allegiance to no nation

Big Money holds no moral honest creed

Big Money bloats, obsessed with acquisition

it’s the lives of you and I on which they feed

chorus

they’ve been pulling all the strings down thru the ages

solid as their gold as empires rise and fall

the prize now in their eyes is all of Gaia

if we don’t stop them now they might take it all

(but) Big Money can’t corrupt our intuition

(and) Big Money can’t control our Higher Mind

Big Money’s weight will sink them to perdition

it is there that their conceit shall be consigned

chorus w/tag

I don’t get it. I know the Capt wants to live, thats for sure… and maybe him jumping was telling someone something… like BLOW THE DAMNED THING UP!
