It has been brought to my attention that several readers are having problems with adding comments to this blog. I have been in contact with WordPress and they informed me (today and not before) that there has been a change to the comment system:

We’ve recently updated our commenting system.
Now, if someone tries to comment with an email address that’s attached to a WordPress.com account, they’ll need to sign into WordPress.com before they can comment.
If commenters have forgotten their password they can request a reset:

I hope that you try this. But I also understand that some of the authors are still having problems. What I don’t understand is that some readers (not authors here) are having some issues.
If you will, please go to this discussion and add your input to help me get this fixed.
I put no restrictions on comments, so I don’t understand how it might affect non-WordPress users. It appears that if you use Gravatar.com, you can use that sign in, too.
I have had problems at other sites recently and in most cases I must use an OpenID comment box, or my comments are never accepted.

I can’t comment on other sites without using Open ID or my Google account. I can never use the WordPress sign-in (this goes for Blogger site, as well).

Maybe…(oh crap here goes the conspiracy theorist line)….maybe some out there are upset(pissed) at what goes on in places like The Revolt….maybe the idea is to disrupt our rantings and try stop our ranting from spreading to other sheep.

I provided a link to an ongoing discussion I have had with WordPress engineers, but no one with a problem has gone to help.
I don’t know what else to do.
