OK, so its Friday. not Saturday. He’s still a dick.
Posted by BuelahMan | July 20, 2012, 5:27 amThe best teacher I ever had at any level was my high school math teacher (and basketball coach). He motivated exclusively and very effectively with humiliation and embarrassment, leavened with humor: “Close the door back there. I’m afraid someone might come by and see what Paul just put up on the blackboard.” “What? A great big boy like you can’t move a tiny little decimal?”
I was way too scared of him not to do everything right. He also knew his subject like Mr. Wizard knew his. I loved both of them. So what if they trampled on unearned and unwarranted self esteem?
The editor of this YouTube piece reminds me of NBC’s editor of the George Zimmerman 911 recording.
Posted by David Martin | July 20, 2012, 7:24 amYeah. I personally enjoyed Mr Wizard way back when. But he could be short, especially if a kid was getting close to hurting himself.

Posted by Noor | July 22, 2012, 7:24 pmI just saw a response in the Spam Filter. Are you using different Logins? Is one of them immediately put in Spam (I certainly do not screen you)?
You are the only one now, I think.
Posted by BuelahMan | July 23, 2012, 8:05 amNever was into science stuff but he seemed a product of the times. Gosh they were big on self esteem but I like he did not sugarcoat either. Sort of a gruff Mr. Rogers …
