Yep. The people who hide out in caves in the mountains apparently have a navy… perhaps one of those new fangled sand-navies.
Our government (in the sand-navy case, led by that beloved CT IndependentDemocraticReTHUGlican Senator LIEberman) wants to spend $81 BILLION on a submarine intent on fighting Al Qaeda’s Navy. You haven’t heard about that from the MSM because I suspect even they know it is absurd. But that doesn’t mean it isn’t true or that Sen LIEberman isn’t pushing for the absurd.
The GAO (Government Accountability Office) issued a report last week that mimics the previous 5 annual reports in that it points out huge waste in each and every major advanced weapon systems program it has ongoing. They take OUR money and waste it while WE could be using it for our own needs.
But even worse is the unchecked military spending on systems originally designed for the Cold War, all in the guise of protecting us from terrorists that have no real forces. Just like that sub, which may have been needed for the Cold War, now is not needed, but does that stop them from appropriating money for it? Nah. Just change the reason to something insane and the American public will buy it.
We continue to build and fund major technologically advanced systems, spending untold TRILLIONS of dollars, to attack cave dwelling navies who attack us using box cutters and our own airplanes.
Rednecks, while you watch your job go to China, the Military Industrial Complex is thriving and making huge profits. Rivaling even the oil companies. Do you consider it just a coincidence that the neocon cabal are all deeply connected to oil and military manufacturers and contractors?
Look at this quote from the audit:
“Since 2000, the Department of Defense (DOD) has roughly doubled its planned investment in new systems from $790 billion to $1.6 trillion in 2007, but acquisition outcomes in terms of cost and schedule have not improved.”
In lieu of the fact that Iraq had absolutely nothing to do with 9/11 or bin Laden, we are having this radical spending justified anyway. We are being lied to at every turn, trying to perpetuate the Iraq and Afghan wars, and apparently chomping at the bit to start another one.
To me, whether or not these fools believe what they are doing is good for this country, the evidence is that it is the worst thing that ever happened to this country. We do not need to wait till next year to change this. We need someone to step up and stop this now.
But look at this:
“Of the 72 programs GAO assessed this year, none of them had proceeded through system development meeting the best-practice standards for mature technologies, stable design, or mature production processes by critical junctures of the program, each of which are essential for achieving planned cost, schedule, and performance outcomes.”
They aren’t even concerned if these projects work or are completed on time. One doesn’t necessarily have to be dropping bombs 100% of the time. They can just waste money on bogus shit and get more whenever they ask for it. All the while, every other thing that we should be spending money on is being cut or ignored (health care, education, general economy, veteran care, alternative fuels, the environment, etc).
Think of that. of 72 programs, they all are behind schedule, which means over cost. High tech advanced weapons programs intent on killing cave dwellers and Iraqis/Iranians. They can’t even get protective equipment to our troops. Seems like 81 BILLION could buy a lot of gear.
This nation’s priorities are 100% reversed and we just go along, as if nothing matters…
Russian intelligence sees U.S. military buildup on Iran border
MOSCOW, March 27 (RIA Novosti) - Russian military intelligence services are reporting a flurry of activity by U.S. Armed Forces near Iran’s borders, a high-ranking security source said Tuesday.
“The latest military intelligence data point to heightened U.S. military preparations for both an air and ground operation against Iran,” the official said, adding that the Pentagon has probably not yet made a final decision as to when an attack will be launched.
He said the Pentagon is looking for a way to deliver a strike against Iran “that would enable the Americans to bring the country to its knees at minimal cost.”
He also said the U.S. Naval presence in the Persian Gulf has for the first time in the past four years reached the level that existed shortly before the invasion of Iraq in March 2003.
Col.-Gen. Leonid Ivashov, vice president of the Academy of Geopolitical Sciences, said last week that the Pentagon is planning to deliver a massive air strike on Iran’s military infrastructure in the near future.
A new U.S. carrier battle group has been dispatched to the Gulf.
The USS John C. Stennis, with a crew of 3,200 and around 80 fixed-wing aircraft, including F/A-18 Hornet and Superhornet fighter-bombers, eight support ships and four nuclear submarines are heading for the Gulf, where a similar group led by the USS Dwight D. Eisenhower has been deployed since December 2006.
The U.S. is also sending Patriot anti-missile systems to the region.
Does anyone have a good idea why we would be amassing troops on Iraq’s western border?
My suggestion is not that we will invade Iran with troops, but that we are about to embark on a massive bombing campaign and we are situating our troops to stop Iran from invading Iraq with intentions of killing our Army in Iraq.
Does anyone in our government consider how these actions may UNITE ALL of the ME against us? Does anyone consider that people who are afraid will ban together to fight off an aggressor, especially when religion appears to be the main rationale (in their minds)? Can anyone imagine that our invasion or even bombing of Iran may not cost us our entire Army in Iraq? How far do you think the Iraqi forces, primarily Shia, will support attacks against their own religion?
We continuously believe that our forces are unbeatable (and in most cases, they are unbeatable), but what about a mass of ME countries that have had enough of us? What if they decide that Al Qaeda is correct, that our presence is seen as an empire building program and to hell with their feelings about terrorism?
Of course we can always nuke them into submission, at the same time killing even more of our own troops and innocent citizens.
Some people think that this is beyond the capabilities or even desires of the rogue administration running this country. To those people I say, “You haven’t been paying ANY attention to them, have you?” and “Wake up, you redneck.”
One of the sad things about this entire “War on Terror” is that the Bush Fools have played along with everything that Osama Bin Laden baited them into. We keep hearing from the very loud MSM that “they hate us for our freedom”, etc, but Bin Laden, himself, was very clear about what Al Qaeda was doing.
This ran on CNN and CNN.comon Monday, Nov 1, 2004 and quotes this man as he explains EXACTLY the intent of Al Qaeda. Like a shark attracted to chum, the US fell for it and this means that we have fallen to the tactics of a cave-dwelling maniac, by doing EXACTLY what he wanted us to do.
Could our leader, George W Bush have been any more gullible and stupid to have done EXACTLY what Bin Laden wanted? Or could he be complicit? Bin Laden is not dead for a reason, and the reason is NOT that he couldn’t be found and killed (imo).
A blast from the past to show rednecks how stupid our “Redneck-in-Chief” truly is:
(CNN) — The Arabic-language network Al-Jazeera released a full transcript Monday of the most recent videotape from Osama bin Laden in which the head of al Qaeda said his group’s goal is to force America into bankruptcy.
Al-Jazeera aired portions of the videotape Friday but released the full transcript of the entire tape on its Web site Monday.
“We are continuing this policy in bleeding America to the point of bankruptcy. Allah willing, and nothing is too great for Allah,” bin Laden said in the transcript.
He said the mujahedeen fighters did the same thing to the Soviet Union in Afghanistan in the 1980s, “using guerrilla warfare and the war of attrition to fight tyrannical superpowers.”
“We, alongside the mujahedeen, bled Russia for 10 years until it went bankrupt and was forced to withdraw in defeat,” bin Laden said.
He also said al Qaeda has found it “easy for us to provoke and bait this administration.”
“All that we have to do is to send two mujahedeen to the furthest point east to raise a piece of cloth on which is written al Qaeda, in order to make generals race there to cause America to suffer human, economic and political losses without their achieving anything of note other than some benefits for their private corporations,” bin Laden said.
Amazing how such a small group of radical religious group could bring this great country to its knees. But, I contend that it could not have been done without the full participation of the neocon driven, Bushilicious Fool Team. We MUST rid ourselves of these idiots and I wish BEFORE the election in November.
The neocon Big Military agenda of empire building doesn’t seem to learn from any of its previous blunders of paying off all sides of a conflict. The “Surge” is applauded as a success by the administration (and trained media) because they say security is better. They will elude to what aids this great military achievement (the Awakening Councils… local militia style gangs, many Sunni origin and some were previously Al Qaeda in Iraq or other anti-America Iraqi citizens/insurgents). In other words, we are paying our enemies to help us rid Iraq of our mutual enemy (Al Qaeda), after many of these very same people have been attacking (and killing) our American brothers and sisters.
Of the 49 Awakening Councils, most have not been paid what they were promised and are quitting the council. They feel used by the Americans (much like the Shia Uprising after the 1st Iraq War was left to be brutalized by Saddam after promises of protection). We are doing what we have done countless other times… make promises we never intend to keep to get our desires… then to hell with them later.
How long does it take for America to figure out it has been lied to? Obviously more than 5 years. But now we have a report that shows that Saddam Hussein had nothing whatsoever to do with Al Qaeda or Osama Bin Laden.
And what will it matter that we know now? Will anyone (other than this solitary redneck) call for the lying Bush cabal to be held accountable? Will someone that matters actually hold impeachment hearings? Of course not.
They lie to us with impunity. They are caught in their lies and essentially say, “so what?” There is nothing they should be afraid of except getting caught with their dick in a whore. And then only if it is a Democrat.
An exhaustive Pentagon-backed study of more than 600,000 Iraqi documents seized after the 2003 US-led invasion has found no direct link between Saddam Hussein’s government and Osama bin Laden’s al-Qaeda network. The alleged link was one of the main reasons given by the US for going to war with Iraq and the then defence secretary, Donald Rumsfeld, had said there was “bulletproof” evidence of a connection.
But leaked excerpts from the report due for release on Wednesday indicate the first official acknowledgement from the US military that there was no “direct operational link” with al-Qaeda, according to the McClatchy Newspapers group
The original reason for going to war - that Saddam had weapons of mass destruction that posed an imminent threat - has also lost credibility, with no such weapons found five years after the invasion.
Besides the hundreds of thousands of documents, the study’s researchers also used thousands of hours of interrogations of former senior officials in Saddam’s government now in US custody.
The study does indicate that Saddam Hussein did much to support “terrorism” in the Middle East and used it “as a routine tool of state power
His government, the study says, had a programme for the “development, construction, certification and training for car bombs and suicide vests in 1999 and 2000″.
But “the predominant targets of Iraqi state terror operations were Iraqi citizens, both inside and outside of Iraq” who were seen as Saddam’s enemies, the report says.
On the 10th anniversary of al-Qaeda, experts on radical Islam said al-Qaeda has reshaped the structure of world relations and will continue to gain strength as long as the U.S. dominates the region.
According to Egyptian daily Al-Fagr, experts consider Feb. 22 to be the group’s 10th anniversary, as the World Islamic Front for Jihad Against Jews and Crusaders — later known as al-Qaeda — came into being on that date in 1998.
Speaking to al-Fagr, Moroccan expert on militant Islam, Dr. Mohamed Darif, said al-Qaeda has reshaped the structure of world relations, noting that before the collapse of the Soviet Union, the main conflict was between the Eastern and Western blocs.
Now it is between powers that claim to be fighting terrorism, led by the United States, and other countries that the first group claims to be harboring terrorism, Darif said.
“Thus, terrorism has become the whip the United States uses against any country that doesn’t follow the superpower in the new world order, and this is what’s happening with Syria, Iran, and North Korea as well as Iraq before the invasion,” the Moroccan scholar told the daily.
Darif added that the very existence of al-Qaeda has forged unlikely alliances between specific countries that had a long history of disputes and disagreements.
Egyptian political analyst and expert on political Islam, Diaa Rashwan, said al-Qaeda has caused a major change in foreign relations, as the degree of security coordination between countries is unprecedented in history.
He said the future of al-Qaeda is strongly linked to the United States foreign policy in the Middle East, adding that it is only when the U.S. gives up its plans to dominate the world that al-Qaeda will start getting weaker and losing ground.
“If the United States stays in Iraq and keeps threatening other countries in the region, al-Qaeda will gain more bases and more supporters since it will remain the main resistance force against the West,” he told al-Fagr.
(Translated from Arabic by Sonia Farid).
And they said that Dennis Kucinich and Ron Paul are wrong about their rationale of Al-Qaeda’s reasoning/purpose, when it matches the specifically announced claims. We are inflaming the issue (purposefully, in my estimation) to fuel Big Military/Big Money’s desire for more. The sooner America, especially the rest of us rednecks, wakes up, the sooner we can take back what these thieving bastards have taken from us and make up for what they have done elsewhere. The sooner we get out of their countries, unless specifically asked, the better off for all of us. I prefer we get the hell out all together, but we need to start somewhere.
I stumbled into this blog and post. ExcerptAdapted from Inside the Mind of an Iraqi Suicide Bomber, By APARISIM GHOSH / BAGHDAD. (Nicely done)
Saeed Hotary drives a large black van from his hometown of Jordan, to Tel Aviv, in Israel. He rents a motel, and straps eight brown blocks to his midsection, and dons a heavy jacket. He goes out for a walk, and heads toward the local dancing club. He yells, “Allahu Akbar!” raises his fist, and pushes down on his thumb. The plastic explosives around his chest detonate, and 20 nearby people cease to live.
Four months before the explosion, his father, Hassan Hotary enlists his son, Saeed, into the military wing of a terrorist organization. He tells his son to have a purpose in life, and not die without leaving an influence on the world. Saeed honors his father, and begins months of indoctrination and training.
A week before the enlistment, Hassan’s priest preaches about the plight of Palestine. We have no hope of a better future, and are constantly oppressed, hungry, and humiliated. We have no purpose. However, there is a chance. To die with purpose is better than to live in shame. Martyrs are saved a place in heaven. “He who gives his life for an Islamic cause will have his sins forgiven and a place reserved in paradise.”
A month before the sermon, the priest reads a powerful theologist’s thesis, of how suicide bombings are the most noble contribution to the Sunni Muslim community.
A day before the thesis, a extremist militant from Hamas asks the theologist to aid in the recruitment of more suicide bombers.
An hour before the request, Sheikh Ahmed Yassin, the leader of Hamas, commands a general to augment the terrorism against Israel.
Sheikh Ahmed Yassin makes a command, and Saeed Hotary unquestioningly kills himself and 20 other people.
Post edited 2/3 after being informed of the adaptation, as opposed to excerpt (see comments). Even tho they insist it was not published to be anti-Bush (or anti-anything, except questioning authority… which is exactly the way I took it), I believe it fits quite nicely with the Authoritarian mindset Bush and his administration uses. I would also mention that there are only degrees of separation between religions, whereas people are willing to conduct terror. Some people’s religious upbringing can be considered torture. I believe all authoritarianism should be questioned, not just the suicide bombers.
