Florida Passes Plan For Racially-Based Academic Goals

Palm Beach, Fla. (CBS TAMPA) – The Florida State Board of Education passed a plan that sets goals for students in math and reading based upon their race.
On Tuesday, the board passed a revised strategic plan that says that by 2018, it wants 90 percent of Asian students, 88 percent of white students, 81 percent of Hispanics and 74 percent of black students to be reading at or above grade level. For math, the goals are 92 percent of Asian kids to be proficient, whites at 86 percent, Hispanics at 80 percent and blacks at 74 percent. It also measures by other groupings, such as poverty and disabilities, reported the Palm Beach Post.

A person diagnosed with measles may have exposed others at Indianapolis’ Super Bowl Village to the disease, according to Indiana health officials, who say they’re not yet concerned about a widespread outbreak.
Two cases of measles have been confirmed in Hamilton County, with another two suspected in Boone County. One of the confirmed patients visited the outdoor Super Bowl Village on Friday afternoon. More than 200,000 people visited the Super Bowl Village that day, two days before the New York Giants beat the New England Patriots in the Super Bowl.
The Indiana State Department of Health said it notified the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and health departments in New York and Massachusetts, but it could be a week before new cases of measles pop up from that exposure.
Health officials noted the person did not go into the NFL Experience interactive fan exhibit at the Indiana Convention Center.
Measles is highly contagious and can be spread to others from four days before to four days after the rash appears. Measles is so contagious that if one person has it, 90% of the people close to that person who are not immune will also become infected with the measles virus.
The virus lives in the mucus in the nose and throat of the infected person. When that person sneezes or coughs, droplets spray into the air. The droplets can get into other people’s noses or throats when they breathe or put their fingers in their mouth or nose after touching an infected surface. The virus can live on infected surfaces for up to 2 hours and spreads so easily that people who are not immune will probably get it when they come close to someone who is infected.

As I warned early in the week, this situation is far worse than we are being told. Little bits of information are released, however, that give us an indication to how bad it really is. I don’t intend to go over the various sources… if you are interested, you are already paying attention (if you ask, I’ll share many of my sources).
What I want to examine here is how to stop this disaster, if it can be stopped.
Basically we have a situation where the design of these reactors have a pool of water that keeps the spent fuel rods cool and in storage. This area is found in the same location of the reactors, but does not have the containment that the reactors do. It is basically a swamp to store the rods (which are still energetic and poisonous). Beyond being a stupid design flaw akin to storing a never-ending gas can next to a camp fire. It’s just a disaster waiting to happen.
Once these pools are depleted of water, these rods get very hot and can burn. Once this starts, the gamma radiation emitted is so strong that people cannot be near it without dying very quickly. People will not be able to point water nozzles at little holes and HOPE that they can refill the pool. Helicopters will not be able to fly over and drop water into these holes.
Of course, there are 4 reactors that also need water to cool them (and this doesn’t address the other reactors having issues or the possibility of another earthquake that could ensue as aftershocks). But if the gamma radiation is too high for humans to be there, how do you suppose that these reactors will be cooled? And if they are not cooled, what we will see is FOUR systems spewing this radiation in amounts that make Chernobyl pale in comparison.
Basically, it will grow until NOTHING will be able to stop it, save one potential.
Bear with me, for I haven’t heard this from any source, so it is only my speculation. The only way I see to stop such a thing is to either cover it with enough earth to help minimize the radiation OR set off a huge bomb (potentially a nuke) to try to destroy the camp fire altogether.
I cannot get a grasp of how they could ever get close enough or move enough dirt to actually cover it, so that leaves the bomb, which, of course has its own set of horrible consequences. It will blow the stuff into the atmosphere in tremendous amounts. But is the answer to allow these four systems and their pools to spew for MILLIONS of years?
Of course not. What they CANNOT do is allow this thing to spew indefinitely. To do so would be tantamount to allowing this to completely cover the Earth in radiation (at least the northern hemisphere).
If you have any suggestions, please add them. I’m all ears.

I know from vast personal experience (7 DUI charges before 1986) that alcohol is far more debilitating than weed when driving (or doing ANYTHING else, for that matter). I won’t get into tall the details of my DUI’s, but suffice it to say that it makes me far more careless and unable to drive in a safe method.
Compare that to weed and the thousands of miles I have traveled under that influence and not only do I not have a DUI for it, I have not had an accident in many years because it ENHANCES my driving abilities. This isn’t a dream or a wish… it is imperative fact proven after years and many hundreds of thousands of miles of driving. When someone tells you that it limits or hinders your response times, you are being fed a line of heavy duty shit.
There simply is NO comparison in the effects of these two substances. Period. If you have tried it, you know what I say is true.
Now, I am not here telling you to get high and drive. I am telling you that in my case, the lies are obvious. It is possible that I am some sort of exceptional person who handles the substance differently than every other human on earth (Kelso believes that certain ethnic backgrounds can lead a person to be able to tolerate the stuff or not). I am not convinced, but I won’t argue. He claims that cocaine is metabolized differently in S Americans than N Americans and that the “war on drugs” is about fighting something that many S Americans have no addictive issues with.
IF this is true, then it only stands to reason that THC may act differently, as well.
I don’t know, so I can only speak for myself and the many others I know who partake. Of all the friends I have who partake (or once did), I cannot find a single one that agrees that weed is as bad as alcohol in effect. (There is one caveat to this statement, I know of a couple of folks who have since become extremely religious who won’t make the claim about it being as bad as alcohol, but suggest that ANY mind-altering substance is a sin, so they won’t use. To this, I say, “To each his own”. But, do not, even for a second, think that you can debate me on this subject with that as your sole informational source. (Do so at your verbal-spanking peril)
The media puts a quick bag over the head of ugly news (anything that goes against the government controlled meme), hoping to keep the truth from an ever-increasingly learned public. But the truth of the matter is that marijuana is one of the MOST-Studied substances on the face of the earth. Paul Armentano, NORML‘s Deputy Director, explains that even as the talking heads and other government asswipes call for more investigations and study into this plant, there is ample evidence to disprove nearly each and every bogus “war on drugs” scare tactic claims there are.
I have mentioned the FACT that marijuana inhibits and KILLS cancer cell growth in a variety of cancers (see here, here and here, as just a few examples). But Paul points out that all the talking heads up in arms about more research conveniently disregard all the information and studies already done. Its as if as long as the news doesn’t fit the lie, do not repeat it and call for even more studies in hopes of finding one that will agree with the lie those who profit from the war on drugs gain from.
For example, researchers at the State University of New York (SUNY), Upstate Medical University in Syracuse published data in the June issue of the journal Pharmacology concluding that the administration of the plant cannabinoids delta-8-THC and delta-9-THC halted cellular respiration and tumor growth in human oral cancer cells. Specifically, investigators reported that cannabinoids were a “potent inhibitor” of Tu183 human cancer cells, a notoriously difficult to treat type of oral cancer.
Of course, this is hardly the first time that pot’s compounds have been demonstrated to possess anti-cancer properties. As has been widely reported here and elsewhere, US government researchers were first aware of this finding over 35 years ago, and today there exist published scientific studies demonstrating that cannabinoids can inhibit the proliferation of a wide range of cancers — including brain cancer, prostate cancer, breast cancer, lung cancer, skin cancer, pancreatic cancer, biliary tract cancer, and lymphoma. Nonetheless, abstract prohibitionist concerns regarding marijuana’s supposed cancer risk continue to dominate the headlines while actual scientific studies debunking these allegations tend to go unnoticed.
Similarly, preclinical data published online last week in the journal Cell Communication and Signaling reported that the administration of the non-psychoactive cannabinoid cannabidiol (CBD) increases adult neurogenesis (the active production of new neurons) in laboratory animals. Authors speculated that cannabis’ pro-neurogenic effects may explain why the plant appears to be useful in the treatment of certain neurodegenerative disorders like Alzheimer’s disease or ALS.
As I wrote last week, to date there are now over 20,000 published studies or reviews in the scientific literature pertaining to marijuana and its active compounds — making marijuana the most studied plant on Earth. But what’s the point in further research if nobody even bothers to pay attention to the research that’s already been done?

Two thugs who attacked what they thought were a pair of transvestites picked on the wrong men – when their intended victims turned out to be cage fighters on a night out in fancy dress.
Dean Gardener, 19, and Jason Fender, 22, singled out the two men walking along a street in wigs, short skirts and high heels.
Bare-chested Gardener was caught on CCTV confronting one of the men in a pink wig, black skirt and boob tube – then seen swinging a punch, a court heard.
But the other cage fighter, wearing a sparkling black dress and matching long wig, sprang to his friend’s help, delivering two lightning-quick punches to the two stunned yobs.
The cage fighters were then seen teetering away in their high heels, stopping only to pick up a clutch bag they dropped during the melee…

I am not sure what it is about those of us who invite the challenge of a dare, but I have been one of those that would accept most anything, as long as the challenger was willing to do the same or similar thing upon my dare. A dare for a dare, as it were.
After being dared to pick mushrooms out of cow shit to eat them, in response, I dared a guy to jump from a structure that was about 5 feet away from some giant pine trees, except that we were at least 30 or 40 feet above the ground. He was to jump from a railing and grab the tree (and climb down).
He apparently didn’t understand the gravity of gravity, because when he made it to the ground in only about 3 seconds of flesh tearing descent (and almost lost a nipple to the pine’s hard bark), he had to go to the hospital. He didn’t have a shirt on (and I was tripping and laughing so hard). It could have killed him, of course (but so could have the mushrooms killed me).
My youngest brother made a killing off of eating spiders alive ($10 or $20 per spider). I remember sitting in my living room one day while he was visiting and I saw a spider run across the carpet and all I had to do was say, “$10″. He jumped down, grabbed the spider and ate it. Simple as that.

Last week at Shepton High School in Plano, a ninth-grader agreed to eat parts of a fetal pig – and not just any parts – for $50.
The second-period biology class was wrapping up a third session on dissection when a couple of students proposed the dare.
“What was I eating?” the boy recalled asking.
Testicles, the students replied.
He gulped them down one at a time, he said, trying not to bite down.
“It was just like swallowing a pill,” said the 15-year-old, who is not being identified because of his age. “It wasn’t that bad.”
School officials, who declined to comment, apparently took a different view, especially because the pigs are soaked in formaldehyde, a toxic chemical used to preserve the tissue.
They called the boy’s mother, who couldn’t be reached for comment, and a trip to the hospital followed.
“She said, ‘How could you be so stupid?’ ” the boy said.
After the hospital, he said, he went home and brushed his teeth – three times.
He said he collected $40 but owes his mom $100 for the hospital visit.
Tenn.: Senate debates marijuana decriminalization bill

Last week, the Senate Judiciary Committee deferred action on SB 1942, which would make possessing or distributing less than one-eighth of an ounce (about 3.5 grams) of marijuana a Class A misdemeanor punishable only by a fine of between $250 to $2,500. Currently, possession or distribution of this amount is punishable by up to a year in jail and a fine of up to $2,500.
No, I don’t blame him solely. I put more blame on the sheople who elected him due to their ignorance of his true identity and purpose. But that is yet another ass-chewing by me and I already gave you one today. So, let’s get down to some brass tacks regarding what is happening with the budget that has been approved.
You see, I took basic math in elementary school, algebra and geometry in high school (and actually paid my own way through college to tap into various higher forms of math, as well). But, for the sake of the uneducated redneck out there, let’s stick with basic addition/subtraction.
The first thing you need to know is that when these lying assholes tell you something like the Tarp is for $700Billion, they lie (or hold back the entire truth) because the actual Cash injection into these bailouts is more on the order of $8.5Trillion (and remember that your Savior voted FOR that bailout). I wonder where that money comes from? (Think about your mother’s retirement as one source)
Basically, all the revenue of the US tax dollars are basically going to two major portions: Military and Bank Bailouts. Somewhere to the order of $2.3Trillion. Now, for the math part, Individual Household federal taxes are in the neighborhood of $1T.
Do the math, please and tell me HOW the hell we are going to pay for this as tax payers? There is but one way and the fact is that something MUST be cut. So, let me ask you, where do you think the cuts will take place? Do you think that Mr Obama loves you so much that he will protect your money and slash the military budget?
Yeah, sheople, for sure.
They will do exactly like your previous Democratic Savior did (Bill “Blowjob” Clinton) and cut social services even more. Less healthcare. Less education. Less public services.
But thank God we have our military, right? So, you can all fall in line and join the complex?

So, back to the problem: How would we normally make up these differences? By selling Treasury bonds, etc. But when interest rates are near 0%, who (in their right mind) would invest with no gains on their investment? Think it will be China to save the day by buying even more of our junk dollars.
Think again. China is already so heavily invested in us, they are already saying they are pulling out of the dollar investment plans.
But even more of a blood boiler for me is that they money that we have already given to the banks in hopes of instigating an influx of credit to continue the faux economy and the citizen’s brainwashing, is actually being used by these banks to buy other banks or to pay debts to foreign banks with possible return of our money. You, Mr and Mrs Redneck are funding the richest assholes in America as they pay themselves for their thievery and to pay off their debts (this is on YOUR nickel). They will use YOUR money to make themselves even richer and more difficult for you.
These bank bailouts will make the economy worse because it is a farce to begin with. It is a lie, people (excuse me, “Sheople”). The bank bailouts are not providing any new jobs, nor credit for small business. You are simply giving away your hard earned money for the rich fuckers who couldn’t give a shit about you.
They are using YOUR money to invest in affiliated hedge funds that cannot be traced. In other words, they made the problem happen and they are using YOUR money to pay off their own creditors (which in many cases is someone affiliated with them… their own creditors are themselves). As they bail themselves out with YOUR money and buy up these other banks, the stock market is plummeting. This means that if you are invested in the markets (thank God I am too poor to have made that stupid assed mistake), you are losing your ass (and we are no where near the bottom). These fat cats who caused this will end up buying the most viable companies up at a fraction of their worth or cost.
The only “Stimulus” in this plan is to continue the stimuli for the rich assholes who have created the entire fiasco.

A Spanish mother has taken revenge on the man who raped her 13-year-old daughter at knifepoint by dousing him in petrol and setting him alight. He died of his injuries in hospital on Friday.
Antonio Cosme Velasco Soriano, 69, had been sent to jail for nine years in 1998, but was let out on a three-day pass and returned to his home town of Benejúzar, 30 miles south of Alicante, on the Costa Blanca.
While there, he passed his victim’s mother in the street and allegedly taunted her about the attack. He is said to have called out “How’s your daughter?”, before heading into a crowded bar.
Shortly after, the woman walked into the bar, poured a bottle of petrol over Soriano and lit a match. She watched as the flames engulfed him, before walking out.
The woman fled to Alicante, where she was arrested the same evening. When she appeared in court the next day in the town of Orihuela, she was cheered and clapped by a crowd, who shouted “Bravo!” and “Well done!”
A judge ordered her to be held in prison and undergo psychiatric tests, provoking anger from friends and neighbours, who have set up a petition calling for her release.
Soriano suffered 60 per cent burns in the attack on June 13 and was airlifted to a specialist unit. He survived for 11 days before succumbing to his injuries.
It is understood that the woman, who cannot be named because of laws safeguarding the identity of rape victims, claims to have no recollection of the attack which took place in the Bar Mary, just 300 yards from the family home.
As decorators painted over the blackened walls of his bar last week, Antonio Ferrendez Lopez told how Soriano had walked in at lunchtime.
“The place was packed with people eating. I was sitting at a table and Soriano was standing at the bar very close to me when the woman walked in,” he said. “She didn’t acknowledge anyone but walked up to Soriano, who was drinking a coffee, put her hand on his shoulder and turned him round to face her.
“Then she pulled the bottle she was carrying from under her arm and began to tip it over him. At first I didn’t realise what was happening, but then I smelt the petrol. I jumped up and tried to grab her, but when she struck a match I got clear.
“The petrol was in a pool around Soriano, and she threw the match into it. It ignited with a whoosh, and he screamed and staggered about covered in flames. As people rushed outside to escape the flames, she just looked at him, then turned and walked away.”
Customers helped Mr Lopez put out the fire with extinguishers and doused Soriano with water until paramedics arrived.
Soriano’s attack on the woman’s teenage daughter took place in 1998. The girl was going to buy a loaf of bread when Soriano snatched her from the street, threatened her with a knife and raped her. Her mother is said to have suffered mental illness ever since.
Soriano was convicted of the rape and ordered to serve 13 years in jail. The sentence was later reduced to nine years on appeal.
The woman’s lawyer, Joaquín Galant, told The Sunday Telegraph last night: “The family has suffered a double tragedy. First the attack on their daughter and now this. Both the father and his daughter would like to express their sadness at the death of Soriano.”
Earlier, Mr Galant said that the woman did not deserve to be kept in prison. “For seven years she has been deeply affected by what was done to her daughter,” he said. “This man, fresh from prison and asking how her daughter was, might be considered to have provoked her.”
Big bankers, especially the Wall Street investment banking types, haven’t been exactly viewed with a lot of sympathy or regard in recent months.

Lots of bosses say they value their employees. Some even mean it. And then there’s Leonard Abess Jr.
After selling a majority stake in Miami-based City National Bancshares last November, all he did was take $60 million of the proceeds — $60 million out of his own pocket — and hand it to his tellers, bookkeepers, clerks, everyone on the payroll. All 399 workers on the staff received bonuses, and he even tracked down 72 former employees so they could share in the windfall.
For longtime employees, the bonus — based on years of service — amounted to tens of thousands of dollars, and in some cases, more than $100,000.
At a time when financial titans are being paraded before Congress to explain how they blew billions on executives’ bonuses even as they received a taxpayer bailout, the big-hearted banker’s selfless deed stands out.
Abess didn’t publicize what he had done. He didn’t even show up at the bank to bask in his employees’ gratitude on the day the bonus envelopes were distributed. He was inundated with letters soon afterward.
Asked later what motivated him, Abess said he had long dreamed of a way to reward employees. He had been thinking of creating an employee stock option plan before he decided to sell the bank.
“Those people who joined me and stayed with me at the bank with no promise of equity — I always thought someday I’m going to surprise them,” he said. “I sure as heck don’t need (the money).”
