The Religion of Fear

I need to broach a subject that is touchy with some of my readers. I don’t do this to push a button that will piss you off, but to share a view (sometimes he is considered quite harsh) about Islam and Muslim influence in the UK (and Europe, in general). Being from TN, I know very few Muslims and to be honest, I can count on both hands the people I have met in my entire 46 years who identify themselves as such.

The fact is, especially in the Southeast USA, there aren’t that many (or they hide very well). With the exception of some engineers I have met, I haven’t been able to discuss the religion in depth (just casually). Since this is the case, we don’t know much about Muslims and what we do know we see on TV or maybe on line. By and large, what I see is negative views of Muslims, in many cases. Which baffles me when a Muslim claims it is the “religion of peace”. We have our Louis Farrakhan to judge by (and he just seems like a nut).

And believe me, just read through my blog and you will realize that I question Christianity even more than Islam, so don’t be offended. 

One person I subscribe to on YouTube, but rubs people very roughly (no matter the religion), is Pat Condell. He lives in the UK and posts video discussing religion there and in the USA. He doesn’t primarily beat on Muslims… he gives Christianity more hell than Islam. But, he describes things that happen in the UK that seem to mimic the basic MSM conversation, which is that Islam is hardly a religion of peace, but one of fear and domination.

He describes men being taught that it is ok to beat their wives, not to mention Imams endorsing and encouraging any of the murderous jihad stuff. He explains that by and large, this religion is backwards (7th Century Religion) and is a plight on humanity.

I am not saying I agree with everything this man says, but some of it causes me to wonder.

So, if there is a Muslim reader who would like to address any of my (or Pat’s) points, I would love to learn more… I would like for someone to prove the points wrong.
