It has come to my attention that the Gallup Polling organization is screening potential
candidates and not even listing the third party folks on the poll. They use “internal judgment” and no real criteria. If Mr Newport “feels” like someone should be on the polling list, he will add them. If not, oh well.
Perhaps we need to all send this man a letter or call. I kept getting busy signals, so I wrote. The man’s name is Frank Newport. His number is 609-924-9600. His email addy is frank_newport@gallup.com.
This is my letter:
Mr Newport,
I heard yesterday and received a subsequent email from the Nader campaign that you use “internal judgment” to decide who is listed on the presidential polls. As I understand it (and correct me by explanation, if you will) there is no real standard, just ‘your’ judgment.
Excuse me if I think that is corrupt and ludicrous. Who the hell are you to make a decision such as this, knowing damned well that America wants and expects more?
I take this as nothing more than you and your organization being owned by the Two Party system in America and a certain unpatriotic stance. This, sir, is un-American and you should be ashamed.
Perhaps we, as Americans, shouldn’t be surprised. Because, until now, I have generally held Gallup as an esteemed source (unbiased) and generally trustworthy. That is likely because I fell for the mumbo-jumbo and have generally felt that most Americans are, in truth, caring about America. But, sir, America is waking up and they will hold you and your organization accountable… this I promise.
This action, by Gallup, proves nothing more to me than you are in their pocket and are controlled by crooks and liars. This will become your association, forever, unless you right the bullshit today. Americans have had enough of this and should you actually care about America, it is high time you people became more patriotic and less controlled by the same people who have brought America to its knees.
You have till midnight to correct the ignorant sheeple-like complicity or there will be a mass education initiative to inform Americans of how corrupt your organization has become.
I am posting this letter at my blog and intend to follow your responses and post them as I get them today.
This Will Be Your Last Warning! Correct your idiotic foolishness or suffer the terrible publicity to follow. We have had enough!

It is not about liking or not liking Obama. It is not about race or class or gender. It is not about growing up poor or a member of the working class. There is no shortage of greasy politicians who, once in power, sold out their own. Look at Bill Clinton.
It is about fighting back. It is about confronting a system that belittles us, what we stand for and what is best for the majority of Americans.
We need to throw our support behind alternative candidates who champion what we care about, whether Cynthia McKinney or Ralph Nader.
Bob Barr’s health care plan, like John McCain’s, is even worse than Obama’s tepid proposal.
We need to begin to actively and militantly defy the corporate state, and this means stepping outside of the two-party system. Universal health insurance is one issue. There are others. Nothing we care about will change until we do.

THIS IS BIG NEWS!
From AP:
Libertarian-leaning congressman Ron Paul is urging voters to reject John McCain and Barack Obama and support one of the third-party candidates for president.
Paul, a Republican who abandoned his White House bid earlier this year, is gathering some of the candidates, independent Ralph Nader among them, on Wednesday to make his plea.
“The strongest message can be sent by rejecting the two party system,” Paul said in prepared remarks obtained by AP. “This can be accomplished by voting for one of the non-establishment, principled candidates.”
He recommended Chuck Baldwin of the Constitution Party, former Georgia Republican Rep. Bob Barr of the Libertarian Party and former Georgia Democratic Rep. Cynthia McKinney of the Green Party. He invited them to his news conference Wednesday.
This is big news and bolsters my support for Ron, one of the only real conservatives left in Washington.
Nader predicted the gathering of third-party candidates would “raise the eyebrows” of political pundits who skeptical of the viability of independent presidential campaigns. The candidates will agree on several common issues they believe are being ignored by the major parties.
“This is the beginning of the realignment of American politics,” Nader said.
Paul espouses limited government and individual responsibility. He is a critic of election laws that he says are designed to prevent third-party candidates from getting on ballots and participating in debates.
With this type of endorsement and a podium in the debates, this could truly be a real presidential race for the people, instead of the corporate chooices they gave all you gullible Americans.
