One is that according to the official story, a handful of Arabs, mainly Saudi Arabians, operating independently of any government and competent intelligence service, men without James Bond and V for Vendetta capabilities, outwitted not only the CIA, FBI, and National Security Agency, but all 16 US intelligence agencies, along with all security agencies of America’s NATO allies and Israel’s Mossad. Not only did the entire intelligence forces of the Western world fail, but on the morning of the attack the entire apparatus of the National Security State simultaneously failed. Airport security failed four times in one hour. NORAD failed. Air Traffic Control failed. The US Air Force failed. The National Security Council failed. Dick Cheney failed. Absolutely nothing worked. The world’s only superpower was helpless at the humiliating mercy of a few undistinguished Arabs.
It is hard to image a more far-fetched story–except for the second thing you need to know: The humiliating failure of US National Security did not result in immediate demands from the President of the United States, from Congress, from the Joint Chiefs of Staff, and from the media for an investigation of how such improbable total failure could have occurred. No one was held accountable for the greatest failure of national security in world history. Instead, the White House dragged its feet for a year resisting any investigation until the persistent demands from 9/11 families for accountability forced President George W. Bush to appoint a political commission, devoid of any experts, to hold a pretend investigation.
Even the Devil, himself, (plus the devil’s relatives) was complicit.
John Friend explains that one purpose is to gain control of the world’s minds by inflicting trauma on a mass scale, in order to bring us around to supporting the Empire’s goals (also know as Zionism’s goals):
There is no doubt that 9/11 was a trauma-based mind control operation on a societal scale. Think about it: (fake) images of “hijacked” airliners full of innocent Americans smashing into the iconic World Trade Center towers in New York City were shown repeatedly on television, over and over again, to a traumatized public. Media personalities, politicians, and others provided emotional (scripted) commentary of the day’s events, immediately identifying the culprits patsies: Osama bin Laden, Muslim extremists, and that evil boogey-man,”al-Qaeda”. World Trade Center “victims” were shown jumping out of the buildings due to the fires, all shown on television to a terrified and vulnerable audience. “Victim” family members stepped forward to explain the alleged phone calls made by various “victims” on the hijacked airliners. 9/11 was a day full of trauma, both physical and psychological. We know individuals and societies are more easily controlled and manipulated when they are in a traumatized state.
Believe it or not, the events of 9/11 appear to have been a completely scripted and staged psychological operation, involving fake videos, manufactured “victims”, projected images, fabricated evidence, and scripted witnesses, media personalities, and “actors”…
… 9/11 was a PSYOP not only on the American public, but the entire world. Israel and international Jewry, along with their goyim puppets in the Jew-run United States government, perpetrated this massive fraud against the world 11 years ago today in order to demonize Islam, launch the fraudulent “Global War on Terror” against Israel’s Muslim enemies in the Middle East, and initiate their Zionist-run police state tyranny in the United States and other Western countries. It is past time for the American public to wake up from this trauma-based mind control operation and recognize that Israel was behind 9/11, not Osama bin Laden and “Muslim extremists”. Anyone saying anything to the contrary is working for the enemy, knowingly or unknowingly. All politicians and media personalities covering up this massive fraud, which has led to the murder and destruction of millions around the world, is a traitor. Those refusing to recognize 9/11 for what is really was and remains are as guilty as the Jews who planned, executed, and benefitted from it, period.
The circumstantial evidence is that these were orchestrated events designed to keep fear alive, to create new intrusive powers for a new over-arching federal policy agency, to accustom US citizens to intrusive searches and a police force to conducting them, and to sell expensive porno-scanners and now more advanced devices to the Transportation Safety Administration. Apparently, this expensive collection of high-tech gadgetry is insufficient to protect us from terrorists, and in August 2012 the Department of Homeland Security put in an order for 750 million rounds of ammunition, enough to shoot every person in the US 2.5 times.
Here is where I don’t have the total answer and where psyops has done its best to keep truth seekers at each others throats and provides a distraction from examining the actual culprits. Obviously, if it took airplanes to bring down the two skyscrapers, what explains the third building that collapsed at free-fall speed? Larry Silverstein said to “pull it” (who gave him the power to make that directive???). Any way you look at WTC7, it was obviously a controlled demolition.
So, if one building was rigged for demolition that day, ALL buildings were rigged for demolition that day.
Does it matter if it was explosives, nano-thermite/thermate, nukes or some other exotic means (or some combination of them all)? Maybe to a certain extent. But, it is clear that they were brought down with some sort of energy other than fire or plane strikes. This, in and of itself should cause Americans to FORCE a real, unbiased, government-free investigation.
One can spend countless hours looking at videos and reports made that suggest that no planes were used and were added to videos/feeds (John Friend has a post up describing that theory).
Many of us have, in fact, spent hundreds of hours looking into this, what I call the “Nut-cuttin’ issue” of our day. Kenny at Kenny’s Sideshow puts it this way:
Some of us over the last 11 years have read what seems like a million words, watched hundreds of videos, studied thousands of images, posted and re-posted things we felt were relevant, made comments all over the internet, gained friends and allies, made enemies, got ridiculed and called names, evolved in our thinking, picked flyspecks out of pepper, waded through the muck of disinformation, debated and argued the hows, watched as the trolls and paid provocateurs came around to infiltrate the narrative, became frustrated, exhilarated, encouraged and discouraged and never once thought of giving up. We never made a nickel out of it. Our schooling didn’t get us a degree. We did it because we had to. We had no choice. When we were told ‘you are with us or you are against us,’ we chose the against side. It was the side of right, not might. We may not be the brightest light bulb around but we haven’t burnt out yet. We continue just because someone has to and we aren’t afraid.
I have put up video after video of experts that question virtually everything about that day from a technical aspect (altho they don’t go into “who” did it, which was Israel with a little help from their neo-con, Zionist, …many dual citizens… cabal). All one really has to do is compare known building demolitions to what happened on the fateful day, just as Greg Bacon has done at Goon Squad (another excellent source for studying this subject)
Is it necessary to know the whole truth at this point? I wish. But, as Les Visible puts it, it is more important to know the extent of the lies:

There is one thing that defines everyone over the course of these early years of this new century. That thing is the 9/11 attack. Everyone in government and every field of endeavor the world over is defined by their position on this event. It is not necessary to know the truth. It is only necessary to know the extent of the lies in order to define any leader in any position anywhere in the world. By what they have said and by what they have not said, one can accurately judge who is an enemy of the people’s of the world. One can accurately determine who is a tool of the psychopaths or one of them.
I understand that many of the videos I have added or linked to are “old hat” to many regulars. But, it is important for any new folks to this subject to understand what they are really dealing with. If interested, please check out my extensive coverage of 911 by seeing my 911 Archives.

The world has changed after September 11th. Its changed because were no longer safe.
These words were used by the George W. Bush, elected President of the United States in 2000, to dictate the political direction for the 21st Century.
Whereas Americans launch attacks relatively quickly, first on Afghanistan and later on Iraq, using falsified evidence, doubts about the official version of the events of September 11th grows. The speculations that surfaced on the internet directly after the attacks were considered to be just wild conspiracy theories until this now. Yet the circumstantial evidence and even the substantial evidence itself paints a clear picture. The responsibility for the terrible attacks seems to lie not with Islamic Terrorists but with several high-ranking members of the military and administration of the U.S. Government. This documentary focuses on the inconsistencies in the official version of the events as well as on the evidence which has been suppressed regarding September 11th. In addition, it answers the questions of why we still know nothing about it to this day and why we are being deceived also in european countries.
Last March I wrote about how I felt in response to Muntazer al-Zaidi’s shoe chunking, going so far as to call him a “patriot”.
I wrote:
Of course you don’t normally treat a foreign head of state in such a manner by throwing shoes. But in this case, the man had my permission and should be let go and paraded throughout the streets of Iraq as a hero, even if only a hero to many Americans. It just so happens that my mother threw a thousand shoes at me, so the significance of “offense” eludes me, therefore I recommend a big stinking, hot turd for the next patriot that tries. If close enough, a good hocker to the face will do.
Now THAT would be offensive and deserved.
I can understand, perfectly, why this man would hold George W Bush and America, as a whole, in disdain and hatred. Can you not understand that?
Are you so detached that you still believe we are there for their good and not ours? That we are there for lies and war profiteering? To control the region as we take over control of their resources (namely oil)?
Mr Zaidi is a hero to many Iraqis and truthfully, to me, too. For he stands in defiance of the Imperialism that has murdered and pillaged its way into his country.
The only thing I can do to try to understand their plight is to imagine myself in their shoes… as if their shoes were on my feet. I actually posted a video back in January about how I would set up an insurgency if we had been invaded by Iraq. Essentially turning the tables (sort of rambling the first couple minutes… yawn):
Yes, ugly cuss and hardly able to string a sentence together, but hopefully my point is understood. If anyone invaded this country, especially over lies and deceit and bogus rationale, woudn’t YOU help others stop them?
ISN’T IT THE PATRIOTIC THING TO DO?
I saw a snippet of Mr Zaidi’s article published at the Guardian UK over at AfterDowningStreet and it caused me to rethink my original position. It is even more emboldened in my mind. I do not want another single American killed over these criminal wars of aggression on innocent people (let us bring our forces home where they need to be). And I don’t want another American (or bomb) killing another of these innocent people.
For who knows: It may be me throwing a shoe at some Chinese leader someday (or a turd, should that be more offensive here).
Why I threw the shoe
I am free. But my country is still a prisoner of war. There has been a lot of talk about the action and about the person who took it, and about the hero and the heroic act, and the symbol and the symbolic act. But, simply, I answer: what compelled me to act is the injustice that befell my people, and how the occupation wanted to humiliate my homeland by putting it under its boot.
Over recent years, more than a million martyrs have fallen by the bullets of the occupation and Iraq is now filled with more than five million orphans, a million widows and hundreds of thousands of maimed. Many millions are homeless inside and outside the country.
We used to be a nation in which the Arab would share with the Turkman and the Kurd and the Assyrian and the Sabean and the Yazid his daily bread. And the Shia would pray with the Sunni in one line. And the Muslim would celebrate with the Christian the birthday of Christ. This despite the fact that we shared hunger under sanctions for more than a decade.
Our patience and our solidarity did not make us forget the oppression. But the invasion divided brother from brother, neighbour from neighbour. It turned our homes into funeral tents.
I am not a hero. But I have a point of view. I have a stance. It humiliated me to see my country humiliated; and to see my Baghdad burned, my people killed. Thousands of tragic pictures remained in my head, pushing me towards the path of confrontation. The scandal of Abu Ghraib. The massacre of Falluja, Najaf, Haditha, Sadr City, Basra, Diyala, Mosul, Tal Afar, and every inch of our wounded land. I travelled through my burning land and saw with my own eyes the pain of the victims, and heard with my own ears the screams of the orphans and the bereaved. And a feeling of shame haunted me like an ugly name because I was powerless.
As soon as I finished my professional duties in reporting the daily tragedies, while I washed away the remains of the debris of the ruined Iraqi houses, or the blood that stained my clothes, I would clench my teeth and make a pledge to our victims, a pledge of vengeance.
The opportunity came, and I took it.
I took it out of loyalty to every drop of innocent blood that has been shed through the occupation or because of it, every scream of a bereaved mother, every moan of an orphan, the sorrow of a rape victim, the teardrop of an orphan.
I say to those who reproach me: do you know how many broken homes that shoe which I threw had entered? How many times it had trodden over the blood of innocent victims? Maybe that shoe was the appropriate response when all values were violated.
When I threw the shoe in the face of the criminal, George Bush, I wanted to express my rejection of his lies, his occupation of my country, my rejection of his killing my people. My rejection of his plundering the wealth of my country, and destroying its infrastructure. And casting out its sons into a diaspora.
If I have wronged journalism without intention, because of the professional embarrassment I caused the establishment, I apologise. All that I meant to do was express with a living conscience the feelings of a citizen who sees his homeland desecrated every day. The professionalism mourned by some under the auspices of the occupation should not have a voice louder than the voice of patriotism. And if patriotism needs to speak out, then professionalism should be allied with it.
I didn’t do this so my name would enter history or for material gains. All I wanted was to defend my country.
Muntazer al-Zaidi is an Iraqi reporter who was freed this week after serving nine months in prison for throwing his shoe at former US president George Bush at a press conference. This edited statement was translated by McClatchy Newspapers correspondent Sahar Issa http://www.mcclatchydc.com
I personally commend you and agree that the man you threw that shoe at is a criminal. It is my desire that he and the rest of the complicit cabal of liars, thieves, war profiteers, and murderers pay for their crimes (and a shoe is the very least thing I wish upon them).
EM at The Grievance Project takes John Yoo to task over his latest article at the Journal of The American Enterprise Institute. I posit, what the hell does this scumbag know about excellence (much less empathy)? EM asks the right questions. Wager on Yoo’s response?
John Yoo interrupts his defense of torture and (presumably) himself, to weigh in on the nomination of Judge Sonia Sotomayor, concluding with this:
But conservatives should not be pleased simply because Sotomayor is not a threat to the conservative revolution in constitutional law begun under the Reagan administration. Conservatives should defend the Supreme Court as a place where cases are decided by a faithful application of the Constitution, not personal politics, backgrounds, and feelings. Republican senators will have to conduct thorough questioning in the confirmation hearings to make sure that she will not be a results-oriented voter, voting her emotions and politics rather than the law. One worrying sign is Sotomayor’s vote to uphold the affirmative action program in New Haven, CT, where the city threw out a written test for firefighter promotions when it did not pass the right number of blacks and Hispanics. Senators should ask her whether her vote in that case, which is under challenge right now in the Supreme Court (where I signed an amicus brief for the Claremont Center on Constitutional Jurisprudence), was the product of her “empathy” rather than the correct reading of the Constitution. [My emphasis.]
Since comments aren’t permitted on his post, I emailed Mr. Yoo this afternoon asking for a response to the following questions:
Don’t hold your breath but I’ll post any reply I receive from Mr. Yoo.
Crossposted at Oxdown Gazette.

Conservative09 keeps coming back for more and to argue that his “water boarding” that he received by his friends at his home was not torture. That all the people in SERE, the CIA and whatever reporters who have actually taken the water boarding technique have not been tortured. Basically, it is like a refreshing dip in the pool.
The dude is so wrong on so many levels , but has apparently convinced himself that what he “experienced” was no big deal and that the water boarding that has been done to the “terrorists” in our charge is not torture. Somehow there is this vast disconnect that he has with reality if he believes what happened to him is the same thing that happened to our prisoners.
My argument is that asking your friends and trusted companions to water board you is not the same thing as has been done to the prisoners in our and the secret jails we used for torture. That he didn’t experience weeks or months of fear and stress positions and bug boxes and threats to rape their wife and whatever horrible tactics are used on the REAL prisoners before he wet his head.
Sorry, but it takes a total sycophantic idiot to not get it. And Conservative09 certainly don’t get it. No more than Bush, Cheney, Yoo, Bybee, Pelosi or anyone who knew about the practice gets it.
But I asked him to allow me (or better yet, some people that I know) to grab his ass and do the water baording and I gauranteed him he would sing his heart out, begging to stop the real torture.
So, when I watched this at Dandelion Salad, I knew I had to post it for Con’s own education purposes.
This clip is from a guy who experienced the SERE water baording and his opinion is quite different than Con’s. I wonder if Con would argue with this man over the water boarding issue?
Keith Olbermann is assuredly becoming a Democratic mouthpiece with every new show. But let us give credit where credit is due:
There simply is NO debate that waterboarding is torture. Anyone who thinks it is or feels like they have a debatable argument for its usage is ignorant to history and the rule of law.
Maybe this little video may show you how WRONG you are (Am I the only one who thinks Peggy Noonan is a smarmy asshole without clue?)
Said Senator Patrick Leahy in regards to Judge Bybee’s involvement with American torture. h/t Jonathon Turley
Now, I don’t know about you, but the fact that Leahy even questions whether or not Bybee is a “decent and honorable” person, in light of the amazingly callous, even evil, memos protecting and lying about torture, tells me that Sen Leahy is no judge of decency or honor.
The political correctness and the two party protectionism MUST stop.
But will it?
Yeah, on Mars, maybe:
In the meantime, former Judiciary Chairman Sen. Orrin Hatch (R-Utah) rejected calls for the impeachment and said that Bybee was “one of the most honorable people you’ll ever meet.” Well, as long as you do not meet him in a CIA interrogation room or near a waterboard.
I touched on this at Stop The US Empire and my old “friend” conservative09 dropped in to explain away his talking point regurgitation of War Criminality and his protectionism (apologetics) for George W Bush’s administration (especially the washing away of Yoo’s memos, as if they are unimportant or irrelevant).
I simply cannot grasp the separation of morals and decency from the “right” and their hypocritical defense of all things immoral and evil. It is truly amazing that people can protect and defend these actions and claim to be decent, moral, law abiding or a Constitutionalists.
There should be a general rule in America that if someone begins defending Bush’s “conservatism” or his “war crimes”, that a Scarlet Letter “W” should be hung around their neck. A real conservative knows that George W Bush was never a fiscal conservative. Primarily, anyone who claims to be a conservative and defends the illegal invasion and war crimes by Bush and his cabal is no conservative and doesn’t have a clue what conservatism is about. You are but another reTHUGlican who wants to claim some mantle, when point in fact is that you have no idea what the mantle means or what it is to carry it. One key way to know is that if you disagree with Ron Paul, then you are no REAL conservative (and he is about the closest thing we have to a real conservative this country has).
So when you come here, asking questions like:
What has Bush done that can be deemed war crimes?
Do not expect to be treated as if you are some inquiring mind. I see you for what you are, someone, intentional or not, who is complicit in the tearing down of our liberties and reputation in the world by your foolish defense of the indefensible.
Don’t be surprised if you encounter this type of post as a response (first kindly, hoping you are just retarded and don’t know better, but suspecting the worse):
Extraordinary rendition, establishing and endorsing torture, illegal wiretapping of American citizens, illegal invasion of a Sovereign country that had done nothing to us, lies and deceit to lead us into that bogus and financially debilitating disaster and the murder of each and every Iraqi and American serviceman lost in this idiotic “war for profit”. He and his ilk are instrumental in the financial fleecing and banker’s bailout. His multitude of illegal “signing statements”, and if I were to guess, his part in the 9/11 attack/coverup.
Should I go on?
Nice and to the point with perhaps a single debatable issue (the illegal wiretapping, and
that could be a war crime if wars were started by using lies propagated from those wire taps or if torture was conducted because of those wire taps). But in every other instance I quickly noted, there is a strong opinion in this country (and obviously the rest of the world) that W and his corrupt crew of like-minded criminals did, in fact, conduct war crimes.
Just because Obama is not forcing the investigation simply proves that he is corrupt also, but certainly does not prove that W is innocent.
But the giveaway that this particular “conservative” is nothing more than another Party ideological water carrier, is his response to my quick note:
How is illegal wiretapping ANYWHERE close to a war crime?
Bush couldn’t have been more CALM during 9/11.
Terrorists were tortured…now they are released and doing their killing again. I don’t advocate torture on anyone, but it was better than releasing them.
Illegal invasion? Congress voted on a resolution! Iraq gassed so many Kurds! Saddam was a tyrant! He had his sons rape
newlywedded wives and forced the husbands to watch!
The financial crisis? Blame the banks that loaned to those who could not pay!
Nearly all of Congress knew Iraq had WMDs.
Ask Ted Kennedy about that.
“Bush couldn’t have been more calm”, so he is no war criminal? WTF? What does that mean?
I would venture to say that most murderous war criminals “seem” calm during the murderous event they are conducting. Ted Bundy was extremely calm as he enticed his victims into his killer’s lair. The Cho guy was “calm” as he killed all those kids. Jeffrey Dahmer was “calm” right before he ate his victims. And Cheney was calm as he denied sending NorthCom in to stop the jets from hitting the buildings, or when they “pulled” the buildings a few hours later.
Calm as a gentle rain of thermite.
“Terrorists” or people were tortured? Some were innocent and have been paid off by our government. You cannot think, truly, that each and every person taken in and tortured by us or our designates in Black Site Prisons were “terrorists”, do you? I don’t give a damn how many people you claim were the opposite, show one. But there is ample proof that even children were imprisoned/tortured. Erroneous bullshit, no matter how “scary” or to what effect is meant is the height of ignorance or complicity. Maybe you get your jollies out of knowing children and innocent “brown people” were tortured and killed? Some “conservatives” are like that, but not REAL Conservatives. Here is what a Fake Conservative says about torturing children by crushing their testicles (which I am sure you are in complete agreement with):
Cassel: If the president deems that he’s got to torture somebody, including by crushing the testicles of the person’s child, there is no law that can stop him?
Yoo: No treaty.
Cassel: Also no law by Congress — that is what you wrote in the August 2002 memo…
Yoo: I think it depends on why the President thinks he needs to do that.
-Human rights expert Doug Cassel and John Yoo, 12/1/05
REAL conservatives are called “conservative”, meaning they “conserve”. They conserve money (Bush spent more than any other president alive and then set up this financial ravaging for Obama to complete). They conserve weapons. They conserve lives and even children’s testicles, imagine that. They aren’t simply Party Clowns.
Saddam Hussein was indeed a bad guy, yet because of your hero, W, we have killed or caused the deaths of far more people than he did. (You didn’t seem to mention the FACT that Saddam Hussein killed on behalf of US, a minor misunderstanding on your part, I suppose). We gave him the weapons and technology. It was our country that supported Saddam’s rise to power. It was your other hero Rumsfeld shaking Saddam’s hand. But somehow this is justifiable to you? That is is ok to lie to the American public (and the world) to mislead us into supporting an illegal murderous invasion and kill countless little children.
You and your type are dangerous for this country, unless we can figure out a way to get through the MSM bullshit and brainwashing that has taken over America.
I vote that this country, preferably your hero, W, give you a one way ticket to your favorite vacation spot, Iraq. I can only hope that you two sit side by side and then leave the comfort of the plane to see your welcoming committee in Iraq take you in with open arms and kisses to each side of your face. I am quite sure that you will be welcome with open arms, especially by all the widows and children whose parents were gunned down by our illegal, murderous invasion. I’m sure they will see your “conservatism” and welcome you in the proper fashion.
Snarking aside, of course I don’t want you dead, conservative09. I want you to wake up and realize that there is a small, but growing contingent of Americans that are waking up. We have had several communications since I started this blog post which truly turned my mind about its decision that you are just a sycophant and hence, the direction of this post.
I am still blasting fake conservatives, but just as we discussed, we truly need to stop the rhetoric fed us by The Elite and begin to evaluate the truth on the wedge issues, then focus on the things that are causing our country’s demise. The wedge issues are nothing in comparison and that is the point. The Elite wants us fighting over bullshit, while they are ravaging the country as we look away.
Just as we discussed, we have many things in common. Without politics involved, it is entirely likely that you and I would get along famously. But I would have to been totally honest that we don’t have time for this inane bickering about subjects that don’t matter. You may not think that W is a war criminal, but that would put you in the world’s minority. I also believe that there will come a day of recompense and retribution for him and the entire cabal.
You wrote:
I get annoyed when people make charges with no proof. Maybe there are things Bush has done that can be war crimes. I understand your anger from him. But be fair.
The way any criminal investigation should work starts with the “charge” of a crime. I think there is ample “proof” even from Mr Bush’s own words, that he was instrumental in the torture policy. I believe there is ample proof that the facts were “ginned up”, even totally falsified to convince the American public (and the rest of the world) to support this illegal invasion. There is certainly enough for a voracious and non-complicit justice department to see if what has been done is illegal. The fact that Bush’s justice department was filled with cronies is reason enough to suspect a coverup of illegality. And now with the proof of thermitic residue found in the 9/11 dust, I believ there is ample proof that something sinister and purposeful was done by Americans… TO Americans.
Now, how do you feel about finding the nonoparticle thermitic dust in the 9/11 remains? Is that reason enough for a “conservative” to want real criminal investigations to happen?
What would it take for a conservative09 to begin to consider all the facts and not just the ones that Fox news and Rush want you to know?
Seriously, I am curious to the answer. What does it take to suspect someone when it appears glaringly obvious to me and many millions of others?
Yoo Arrested? Thank God we have some decent, law-abiding citizens in this world. From World Prout Assembly (I hope this is true and no April Fools joke):
ohn C. Yoo, a former Deputy Assistant Attorney General of the United States, was arrested on Tuesday in Milan, Italy, and is being held for possible extradition to Spain, where he and five other retired officials who served under former President George W. Bush are expected to be indicted by a Spanish court for violations of the Geneva Conventions, the Convention Against Torture, and the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court.
Yoo, 41, is a visiting professor of Law at the Chapman University School of Law in Orange County, California, on leave from the University of California Berkeley School of Law. He served in the Office of Legal Counsel in the U.S. Department of Justice from 2001 to 2003. Yoo authored memos permitting the use of torture. Torture is banned by both U.S. law and international conventions.
Milan prosecutor Andrea Spolini released a statement indicating that Yoo can be held for up to 90 days awaiting an indictment in Spain under the international standard of “Rompi Testiculo.”

B’Man: No… not our children, even though they WILL be paying for this mess that Bush and his crooked crew created. And yes, our children in America are losing alot… money that could and SHOULD be spent on our schools is now being spent on a perpetual game plan of keeping their children (yeah, them, the little camel jockey Muslims that don’t matter to Christian Americans…) in ignorance and turmoil.
What I believe is happening is intentional. For IF and when we ever leave and allow them to finish whatever it is they are going to do WITHOUT our puppet government and our armed forces installed to control their countryGreen Zone and finally establish the end result, the jig is up.
Another Iran was created due to our idiotic notion that their resources are ours to control. But, I believe that the game plan is working pretty much as they always wanted… or they would have done what the military leaders called for early on… hundreds of thousands of troops to handle the situation after the fall of Saddam. They intentionally DID NOT want that. They wanted turmoil and unrest and they continue to feed from that.
All the while, the children suffer:
Editorial From Gorilla’s Guide: Before you read the text click the image to see two photos from AFP which give an idea of life for school children in Sadr city:
BAGHDAD, April 22 (Reuters) – Even after clashes erupted in the Sadr City slum in Baghdad, Thamir Saadoun still tried to go to school, hoping it would be open. When he got there the guard told him to go home. That was more than two weeks ago.
“I miss my friends. I haven’t seen them for weeks, I want to play with them,” said Saadoun, 12.
“I am fed up from sitting at home. I want to return to school to study and to be a doctor, to treat wounded people in the future if attacks happen.”
The education system in Iraq, once the envy of the Middle East, is now in tatters.
Violence, a collapse of school infrastructure and the mass displacement of both pupils and teachers have turned many of Iraq’s schools into fetid overcrowded ruins, jeopardising the futures of millions of children like Saadoun.
At the end of the 1980s, after pouring oil money into schools, Iraq had virtually eliminated illiteracy.
But after two decades of economic sanctions and war, one third of Iraqi adults now cannot read, Education Minister Khodhair al-Khozaei told Reuters.
“It is a problem that cannot be fixed by a magic wand. We need more than 4,300 new schools, existing schools are in bad condition and the population is growing,” he said.
No part of Iraq shows the severity of the crisis more than Thamir’s neighbourhood, Sadr City, a vast east Baghdad slum with an estimated 2 million people and more than 500,000 school pupils but just 260 school buildings, many barely usable.
Its neighbourhoods have been a battle-zone in the past few weeks, as security forces have fought the Mehdi Army militia of Shi’ite cleric Moqtada al-Sadr. U.S. attack helicopters constantly hover overhead, hunting gunmen.
In many cases two or even three “schools” operate out of the same school in the slum, using the classrooms in shifts staggered throughout the day.
Hundreds of thousands of people moved into the rapidly expanding Shi’ite slum in the 1990s and few new schools were built for them.
“There is no balance between the continuous growth of the population and a number of schools that is almost fixed,” said Mohammed al-Moussawi, head of the education directorate for east Baghdad.
On a recent visit to the al-Khaldiya Primary School in Sadr City, raw sewage was seeping onto the ground from blocked and leaky pipes, filling classrooms with an oppressive stench.
Three separate “schools” share the same 12-classroom building — about 1,600 pupils in total — arriving in morning, afternoon and evening shifts.
“The school is crowded and in constant need of repairs,” said headmaster Ali Abid Sulaibi. “The most important thing is the plumbing. The pupils’ toilets are closed because of the bad sewage, and there is no running water.”
At the al-Fadhila secondary girls’ school nearby, 50-70 teenage girls are packed into each classroom, with three at each desk that is supposed to seat two.
“How can they understand and cooperate with the teacher inside the classroom?” said English teacher Maani al-Yassiri.

NATIONAL LAWYERS GUILD CALLS ON BOALT HALL TO DISMISS LAW PROFESSOR JOHN YOO, WHOSE TORTURE MEMOS LED TO COMMISSION OF WAR CRIMES
New York. In a memorandum written the same month George W. Bush invaded Iraq, Boalt Hall law professor John Yoo said the Department of Justice would construe US criminal laws not to apply to the President’s detention and interrogation of enemy combatants. According to Yoo, the federal statutes against torture, assault, maiming and stalking do not apply to the military in the conduct of the war.
The federal maiming statute, for example, makes it a crime for someone “with the intent to torture, maim, or disfigure” to “cut, bite, or slit the nose, ear or lip, or cut out or disable the tongue, or put out or destroy an eye, or cut off or disable a limb or any member of another person.” It further prohibits individuals from “throwing or pouring upon another person any scalding water, corrosive acid, or caustic substance” with like intent.
Yoo also narrowed the definition of torture so the victim must experience intense pain or suffering equivalent to pain associated with serious physical injury so severe that death, organ failure or permanent damage resulting in loss of significant body functions will likely result; Yoo’s definition contravenes the definition in the Convention Against Torture, a treaty the US has ratified which is thus part of the US law under the Constitution’s Supremacy Clause. Yoo said self-defense or necessity could be used as a defense to war crimes prosecutions for torture, notwithstanding the Torture Convention’s absolute prohibition against torture in all circumstances, even in wartime. This memo and another Yoo wrote with Jay Bybee in August 2002 provided the basis for the Administration’s torture of prisoners.
“John Yoo’s complicity in establishing the policy that led to the torture of prisoners constitutes a war crime under the US War Crimes Act,” said National Lawyers Guild President Marjorie Cohn.
Congress should repeal the provision of the Military Commissions Act that would give Yoo immunity from prosecution for torture committed from September 11, 2001 to December 30, 2005. John Yoo should be disbarred and he should not be retained as a professor of law at one of the country’s premier law schools. John Yoo should be dismissed from Boalt Hall and tried as a war criminal.
The National Lawyers Guild was founded in 1937 as an alternative to the American Bar Association, which did not admit people of color, the National Lawyers Guild is the oldest and largest public interest/human rights bar organization in the United States. Its headquarters are in New York and it has chapters in every state.
