1.5% of The Population Control It All

I remember (in the not-so-distant past) an all hat, no cattle Yale graduate who surrounded himself with Zionist Jews in positions of vast control in our government. I even listed many of these criminals (many are/were “dual citizens” with Israel) in a blog post here. I have been assembling the current administration’s “Jewish List” and then saw a very good post at The Ether Zone which lays out a nice encompassing listing of Jews and/or Zionists that are in the Democratic Obama Administration.

Please read the entire article linked below:

Hollow Christianity

Death To Freedom

by: Al Cronkite

Besides the point made about evangelical Christians in America who fall all over themselves supporting a really stupid and erroneous theology and besides the similar experiences I have had with Mr Cronkite, it was the lists that I wanted to share with you.

My rant is not about religion, it is about the lies and control of Israel over our country and our sycophantic leaderships never-ending kowtowing to Zionism’s directives.

I want some sane person to explain to me how it is mathematically possible for 1.5% of the US population to hold so much power in a country? Is it simply the false meme that Jews are smarter than everyone else? If that were true, one must explain the idiotic shit we do as a nation. The point is that it doesn’t matter which “party” is in control, Zionism and blind allegiance to Israel and its Fascist directions will reign.

But is that good for America, as many Dispensationalist Christians seem to swallow from the likes of Hagey and other preachers, not to mention almost EVERY political congressperson alive? Just look at this list and realize that even your favorite “libertarian” is a supporter of Israel and Zionism, apparently, for they (at this point in time) are indistinguishable. It holds for EVERY Republican POTUS candidate:

They (Zionist Jews) control our media, they control our money, they are dominate in business circles, and will determine the identity of the 2012 Republican Presidential candidate.   Michele Bachman, Sarah Palin, and Mike Huckabee are all fanatical Dispensational supporters of Israel, Mitt Romney is a Mormon, Barber, Giuliani and Gingrich are tired pragmatic politicians who would (and have) sell (or sold) the country down the drain for less than thirty pieces of silver.  All of these power seekers have been to Israel for conferences with Prime Minister Netanyahu.   Both Ron Paul and his son, Rand, support Israel. Gingrich, Romney, and Jon Huntsman have condemned Obama for “throwing Israel under the bus”, Gary Johnson has met with Netanyahu and supports Israel and Rick Santorum has called for a holy war.

Yes, even that radical, Gary Johnson, knows where the real butter is for his bread. Just look at those fools in that list and understand that they will have allegiance to Israel and Zionism, but they don’t give half a rat’s ass about you or even the country they hail from.

But, let’s not simply focus on “that side” of the monstrous false two-party paradigm system. The fact is that Obama’s administration and almost each and every democrat, too, is in bed with the Zionist Jew money bag machinery:

Rahm Emanuel – White House Chief of Staff; son of a Zionist terrorist; dual-citizen of Israel and America (Emanuel served in Israel’s military during the First Gulf War instead of the U.S. military)

Joe Biden – A self-proclaimed Zionist, Biden stated about Iran, “Israel can determine for itself—it’s a sovereign nation—what’s in their interest and what they decide to do relative to Iran and anyone else.”

Daniel B. Shapiro – Head of the Middle East Desk at the National Security Council (another Jew involved in foreign policy matters involving the Middle East); also a major Washington lobbyist.

Obviously, these people are all over the leadership and administration, but look at who controls the money (as in Big Banks and the Federal Reserve offices). You can call me whatever name you so desire (anti-Semite or whatever), but for any legitimacy in that claim, you better explain how it is possible for such a small number of people (Zionists and Jews, or Zionist-Jews) to have so much control and to be in the halls of this country’s leadership. Frankly, the math doesn’t work. The odds are not there, which means the “fix” is in. In other words, these people are getting leadership roles (at the very least, they get the ears of those who ARE actual leaders) but there aren’t enough of them to support their numbers in any legitimate way.

But I’ll wait until someone can correct me and my math.

WTF Thursday: In Palin We Trust

Linked by Alternet, I read this blog post at Socialogical Images about a Palin Look-alike contest at a Nevada Strip Club. Funny and the ladies aren’t too bad.

There will be those who consider this sexist or whatever, but I believe all is fair in love and politics. The fact is that this woman has made her entire career using this very same sexual exploitation and you women know it. So don’t go there to defend her.

Speaking for myself, I do not think the woman is all that attractive. She is pretty, yes, but being attractive means more to me. Being “attractive” means that people want to be around or close to you. I wouldn’t spend 2 minutes with this maniac, Palin. And even if she isn’t a maniac, she is a calculating scurge that is simply playing a role that was thrust upon her. Her entire career, from what I have read has been nothing but lies and using other’s power and influence to go places (like the Governor’s mansion).

I am not fooled by it. I am not fooled into thinking that her hunting makes her anything special. An ability to shoot animals from a helicopter doesn’t show me anything attractive, but causes me to want to run the other way.

Yet, there are men who want to spend time with her (for whatever reason). I don’t get it, because I have had the luxury (if we could call it that) of spending ‘time’ with some of the most beautiful women around (there was a time I was considered a “catch”, myself) and what I inevitably found out is that they use whatever beauty they have to cover up shortfalls in other areas (usually intellect or passion).

To this old man, attractiveness is so much more than a pretty body and face. It is the actual desire to want to spend other, less physical time with the person that means more to me.

Grudge-f*cking is no longer a worthy goal for this old man. But it appears McBush has no qualms with it. Must be that 24 hour Levitra.

Where’s My Daddy?

h/t ThomasG for the PhotoShopping

OK, I am not anti-hunting, although I quit many years ago. If I had to feed my family this way, I have the skills (I am a hell uv a fisherman, as well). I grew up hunting and spent many hours in the woods.

But my dad taught me a couple of key things that I never forgot. Never kill if you aren’t going to eat it (or provide food for others) and make it as fair for the animal as possible (even though I carried a high-powered rifle many times). There are various lawful issues down here (only hunt during season, only kill so many animals, at certain times… never at night, etc) and I have always abided by these laws and ‘rules’. I have never participated in a “dog hunt” (where many people sit in their nice warm truck, listening for the dogs to chase the deer out into the open for an easy kill).

As a matter of fact, my very favorite type of hunting was still hunting or tracking with a bow and arrow, because it gives the animal its best chance. I didn’t even use tree stands, due to the undue advantage.

There is something to say about out thinking a deer in its environment and the thrill and jolt of adreneline that the encounter always gave me. I understand the thrill.

But, something happened to me later in life and the only hunting I do now is with a video camera (I make plenty of money for food). So, I am not getting on hunters, for hunting, but for becomming killers for the enjoyment.

I do not understand the issue surrounding this woman and her crazy assed hunting schtick, but it is evident that she cares little for animal life and it is the thrill of the kill that seems to be her goal. To me, this is scary and a sure sign for impending doom if she becomes the president (and she likely will due to the McInsanes cancer ridden body).

And as my friend Anita put it:

I know she and her husband SAY that they hunt for food and he is 1/8 Yu’pik and in Alaska can do this without a license, but they do not NEED TO HUNT for food.
It is not their sole purpose for hunting.
It is OPEN HUNTING SEASON FOR THE PALINS ALL THE TIME!
And then the polar bear thing and the aerial shooting of wolves.

I believe that people who live for the kill are dangerous individuals when given power. It would be a travesty when giving this crazy bitch the ultimate power.

B’Man’s Patriot Watch: McClatchy

There are few US news sources that I trust to the degree that I trust McClatchy. They were one of the very few that were questioning the lead-up to the war in Iraq. They appear to me to be unbiased, but still a bulldog after a story. I have been an RSS feed subscriber for a while.

They own the Anchorage, AK paper (The Anchorage Daily News), so they are very aware of the cute mayor/Governor/VP wannabe and have been writing articles about her for a while.

They have a nice list of 61 stories and links here.

Here are the latest few for a quick perusal (I included the one about Blackburn because she is my worthless reTHUG congresswoman):

RNC Lies: Evaluating The Pit Bull’s Speech

I have come to the conclusion that anyone believing the Republican Platform lies is either a crazy, brainwashed fool or a maniacally complicit Evil-doer. Anyone who is open minded (or not quite fully taekn over by the reTHUGlican koolaid) and capable of logical thought simply cannot listen to the bullshit and believe it. (And such is the case for the Democratic Party, in case you feel I am partisan).

But in this case, how can any sane person listen or read the speech that Sarah Pit Bull Palin gave and not come away with a feeling or question like, “how can she get by with the blatant lies?”

Lynda and I have been following this lady since she was first heard and I believe that it is evident that this woman is a joke as a leader. So, how is it that so many people could look at what I see and come to a different conclusion? What would make what is evidently a seriously bad move into such a well-received circumstance from the reTHUGlican followers?

How Insane Is John McCain delves into Sarah’s RNC lies with this article:

Republican Convention Lies: Sarah Palin’s Acceptance Speech

The lies were flying fast and furious at the RNC this past week, and a post that catalogued all those lies would probably break the Internet. Instead, I’ll merely start by listing the falsehoods, fudges and straight-up lies in Sarah Palin’s acceptance speech.

McCain, you’re next. Watch out, old fella.

SARAH PALIN

LIE: “I guess a small-town mayor is sort of like a “community organizer,” except that you have actual responsibilities.”

TRUTH: Barack Obama worked as a community organizer on the South Side of Chicago after he graduated from college. He received a $13,000 salary, foregoing a more lucrative career. He worked for the Developing Communities Project, which “protected community interests regarding landfills and helped win employment training services, playgrounds, after-school programs, school reforms and other public amenities.” Residents and organizers who knew him at the itme recall Obama’s efforts in glowing terms.

When Sarah Palin was elected mayor of Wasilla, the town had no long-term debt. Instead of investing in local infrastructure needs, Palin raised taxes for the construction of a multi-million dollar indoor sports facility. However, the city began construction before it had received title, which resulted in years of (still ongoing) litigation that cost the city $1.3 million. Palin left Wasilla $20 million in debt, and was nearly recalled.

LIE: “I’m not a member of the permanent political establishment.”

TRUTH: When Palin was mayor of Wasilla, she hired a lobbyist with ties to disgraced lobbyist Jack Abramoff. She also ran Senator Ted Stevens’ 527 political action committee (he is currently indicted for corruption charges), and made a public appearance with him to support him politically.

LIE: “This was the spirit that brought me to the governor’s office, when I took on the old politics as usual in Juneau … when I stood up to the special interests, the lobbyists, big oil companies, and the good-ol’ boys network.”

TRUTH: As previously noted, Palin had close ties to lobbyists in Alaska. Palin also supports drilling in the Alaska National Wildlife Refuge, a position heavily favored by oil companies, and believes we can drill our way out of the energy crisis (which is not true). To be fair, she did raise taxes on oil companies while governor amid record oil prices.

LIE: “I came to office promising major ethics reform, to end the culture of self-dealing. And today, that ethics reform is the law.”

TRUTH: Palin did help pass an ethics reform bill. However, she stands accused of her own ethics violation stemming from the firing of a public safety officer who refused to fire her brother-in-law, a state trooper. She is also accused of improperly accessing the trooper’s personnel file, which could carry criminal charges.

LIE: “That luxury jet was over the top. I put it on eBay.”

TRUTH: Palin suggests that she actually sold the jet on eBay, but in truth it never sold on eBay, and was eventually sold at a $300,000 loss to a Palin campaign contributor. Far from being a “luxury jet,” it had mainly been used to transport criminals.

LIE: “I suspended the state fuel tax, and championed reform to end the abuses of earmark spending by Congress.”

TRUTH: Palin was actually a major proponent of earmark spending, and in fact, Alaska was the recipient of more earmark spending per capita than any other state in the nation. Palin’s requests for earmarks included $499,000 to assess halibut harvesting.

LIE: “I told the Congress “thanks, but no thanks,” for that Bridge to Nowhere.”

TRUTH: This is such a blatant lie it’s incredible it made it into the speech. Palin repeatedly expressed support on the Bridge to Nowhere, and was even photographed with a satirical t-shirt in support of the project.

LIE: “But listening to him speak, it’s easy to forget that this is a man who has authored two memoirs but not a single major law or reform – not even in the state senate.”

TRUTH: Obama has only written one memoir, DREAMS FROM MY FATHER. His second book, THE AUDACITY OF HOPE, was a campaign book. But guess who has written two memoirs? John McCain! He wrote the memoirs FAITH OF MY FATHERS and WORTH FIGHTING FOR with Mark Salter, as well as his other books WHY COURAGE MATTERS, CHARACTER IS DESTINY, HARD CALL, and more.

It’s also false that Obama did not sponsor any major legislation. He wrote over 110 bills as a Senator, including an important nuclear noproliferation bill and a bill (co-sponsored with John McCain) that established transparency in federal contracts. His bills in the Illinois State Legislature have also been praised.

LIE: “America needs more energy … our opponent is against producing it.”

TRUTH: Obama’s own website calls for investing $150 billion in new clean energy sources.

LIE: “Al Qaeda terrorists still plot to inflict catastrophic harm on America … he’s worried that someone won’t read them their rights?”

TRUTH: Honestly I don’t know what this even means, but it should be noted that Obama is the only candidate who supports incursions into Pakistan if there is actionable intelligence on Al Qaeda, a position John McCain did not support because he was worried about Pakistani sovereignty (despite claiming that he would pursue Osama Bin Laden to the gates of hell).

LIE: “The Democratic nominee for president supports plans to raise income taxes … raise payroll taxes … raise investment income taxes … raise the death tax … raise business taxes … and increase the tax burden on the American people by hundreds of billions of dollars. My sister Heather and her husband have just built a service station that’s now opened for business – like millions of others who run small businesses.”

TRUTH: Obama only plans to repeal the Bush tax cuts for the wealthy and calls for $80 billion in tax breaks to the middle class.

LIE: “Senator McCain’s record of actual achievement and reform helps explain why so many special interests, lobbyists, and comfortable committee chairmen in Congress have fought the prospect of a McCain presidency – from the primary election of 2000 to this very day.”

TRUTH: I’m sure there are some lobbyists who aren’t supporting McCain, but his campaign manager, Rick Davis, is a former lobbyist, and a huge portion of his campaign staff are lobbyists.

Richard Noggin’ Saturday: John “Bush” McPalin

B’Man: I watch most of the speeches and festivites (wasn’t that heart-warming 9/11 video something?) last night and I felt as if there were a bunch of fake rich white people (and their many surrogates applauding) who are doing the best they can to make believe the past 8 years didn’t just happen.

They have a new decorated pit bull who can smile a lovely smile as she pulls your nutsack off your torso with a blood-curdling Ubangi scream… teeth bare… tongue wagging. One that could lie in your face and laugh as she turned away out of ear shod.

But, the “main attraction”, the stud Squid himself, John McCain was likely one of the most UNinspiring speakers I have ever heard. There were a few flubs, but his timing was horrible… stopping where he shouldn’t, continuing when he shouldn’t. He was tormented by the teleprompters and was frustrated as he went from looking left/right/center, then settling for DOWN at his notes.

There is a sure indication he is lying or hoping he just bullshit us. That is when he does that little creepy-assed smile of his.

I counted 12 (but I’m sure there were more). He was truly baffled and upset by the hecklers/protesters and smiled that shit-sniffing grin a few times on their behalf. Palin and Cindy both looked very uncomfortable during the protesters’ interruption (maybe I misunderstood the Cindy-Bot attack mode as uncomfortableness???).

But, not to pick on her, his old lady is just horrible as a speaker. I looked and listened and I just cannot see myself ever trusting a person like that. She is so damn fake, it is sickening. But so is her ole man.

TalkLeft had this write-up and thought it fit quite well:

John McCain Speaks

A condensed version of John McCain’s convention speech:

I want to thank the president for keeping us safe from more attacks like the one that he failed to prevent during his first term.

As a first lady, Cindy will rock.

I respect Sen. Obama. We’re both Americans. But only one of us was a POW.

After I win, I’ll work closely with any other patriot who was a POW.

My friends, please shut up with the “USA” chants. I have to finish this in prime time, before I get cut off for the local news.

I know it’s tough to be unemployed. If we didn’t have a government, you’d all still have jobs. Sarah Palin will help me do away with government.

Sarah Palin has a lot of kids, just like me. We could start our own little town in Alaska.

Change is coming. We’ll fix stuff. We’re maverick repairmen.

I fought corruption. You don’t remember that Keating thing, do you? I’m the only Republican who didn’t take money from Jack Abramoff.

Everything the crazy Democrats in Congress want to spend money on, I’ll veto. Everything. I swear I will.

I won the war in Iraq. The surge was all mine. I’d rather lose an election than see my country lose a war. Have you ever heard that before?

Let me give you the names of some people I’m fighting for. I can’t tell you exactly what I’ll do for them if I’m elected, but I’m fighting for them anyway. Mostly I’m fighting to get elected.

Republicans lost your trust by being corrupt. I want nothing to do with Republicans. I’m all about change. And Lincoln. And Roosevelt (not saying which Roosevelt).

Republicans believe in stuff. We believe in letting rich people keep their money. We believe in judges who don’t legislate from the bench unless they’re overturning laws that regulate businesses.

My opponent will raise taxes. (Boo.) He’ll increase spending. (Boo.) He’ll eliminate all your jobs. (Boo.) He won’t let you visit your doctor. (Boo.)

Unemployment compensation is outdated. We’re going to eliminate it. That will help the economy by forcing you to find a job, even if it’s at McDonald’s. In the meantime you can go to a community college to study fast food restaurant management.

We need to give parents a choice about which underfunded school their kids should attend. Rich parents will be able to send their kids to private schools, just like always. That’s change.

We’re going to cut the rest of the world off from foreign aid. That’ll make other countries stop hating us.

We’re going to drill, drill, drill. We’ll even drill in the back yards of all the nuclear power plants we’ll build. This will make our planet healthy.

It’s time to start new wars. Iran and Russia come to mind. That’s change. I hate wars, but I love to start them. We can only achieve peace by starting new wars.

I will reach out my hand to anyone who doesn’t bite it. I have scars. Call me Scarface. Obama is scarless. Can you trust a man who isn’t scarred?

Did you know I was a POW? No really, I was. I never loved my country until I became a POW. Wait, didn’t Michelle Obama get in trouble for saying something like that?

I don’t think I’m all that and a bag of chips like Obama does.

You should join the military or become a teacher or whatever so you can serve a cause greater than yourself. My cause is becoming president of the greatest country on Earth.

I’m going to keep talking through the applause in the hope that the broadcast network stations haven’t switched to local news.

About Sarah Palin: A View From a Neighbor

Very interesting read from Anne Kilkenny, a home-town gal from Wassila, who knows Sarah and her family. She knows this will cause problems for her, but she had to write it. Good Read. From World Prout Assembly.

September 5, 2008

I am a resident of Wasilla, Alaska. I have known Sarah since 1992. Everyone here knows Sarah, so it is nothing special to say we are on a first-name basis. Our children have attended the same schools. Her father was my child’s favorite substitute teacher. I also am on a first name basis with her parents and mother-in-law. I attended more City Council meetings during her administration than about 99% of the residents of the city.

She is enormously popular; in every way she’s like the most popular girl in middle school. Even men who think she is a poor choice and won’t vote for her can’t quit smiling when talking about her because she is a “babe”.

It is astonishing and almost scary how well she can keep a secret. She kept her most recent pregnancy a secret from her children and parents for seven months.

She is “pro-life”. She recently gave birth to a Down’s syndrome baby. There is no cover-up involved, here; Trig is her baby.

She is energetic and hardworking. She regularly worked out at the gym.

She is savvy. She doesn’t take positions; she just “puts things out there” and if they prove to be popular, then she takes credit.

Her husband works a union job on the North Slope for BP and is a champion snowmobile racer. Todd Palin’s kind of job is highly sought-after because of the schedule and high pay. He arranges his work schedule so he can fish for salmon in Bristol Bay for a month or so in summer, but by no stretch of the imagination is fishing their major source of income. Nor has her life-style ever been anything like that of native Alaskans.

Sarah and her whole family are avid hunters.

She’s smart.

Her experience is as mayor of a city with a population of about 5,000 (at the time), and less than 2 years as governor of a state with about 670,000 residents.

During her mayoral administration most of the actual work of running this small city was turned over to an administrator. She had been pushed to hire this administrator by party power-brokers after she had gotten herself into some trouble over precipitous firings which had given rise to a recall campaign.

Sarah campaigned in Wasilla as a “fiscal conservative”. During her 6 years as Mayor, she increased general government expenditures by over 33%. During those same 6 years the amount of taxes collected by the City increased by 38%. This was during a period of low inflation (1996-2002). She reduced progressive property taxes and increased a regressive sales tax which taxed even food. The tax cuts that she promoted benefited large corporate property owners way more than they benefited residents.

The huge increases in tax revenues during her mayoral administration weren’t enough to fund everything on her wish list though, borrowed money was needed, too. She inherited a city with zero debt, but left it with indebtedness of over $22 million. What did Mayor Palin encourage the voters to borrow money for? Was it the infrastructure that she said she supported? The sewage treatment plant that the city lacked? or a new library? No. $1m for a park. $15m-plus for construction of a multi-use sports complex which she rushed through to build on a piece of property that the City didn’t even have clear title to, that was still in litigation 7 yrs later–to the delight of the lawyers involved! The sports complex itself is a nice addition to the community but a huge money pit, not the profit-generator she claimed it would be. She also supported bonds for $5.5m for road projects that could have been done in 5-7 yrs without any borrowing.

While Mayor, City Hall was extensively remodeled and her office redecorated more than once.

These are small numbers, but Wasilla is a very small city.

As an oil producer, the high price of oil has created a budget surplus in Alaska. Rather than invest this surplus in technology that will make us energy independent and increase efficiency, as Governor she proposed distribution of this surplus to every individual in the state.

In this time of record state revenues and budget surpluses, she recommended that the state borrow/bond for road projects, even while she proposed distribution of surplus state revenues: spend today’s surplus, borrow for needs.

She’s not very tolerant of divergent opinions or open to outside ideas or compromise. As Mayor, she fought ideas that weren’t generated by her or her staff. Ideas weren’t evaluated on their merits, but on the basis of who proposed them.

While Sarah was Mayor of Wasilla she tried to fire our highly respected City Librarian because the Librarian refused to consider removing from the library some books that Sarah wanted removed. City residents rallied to the defense of the City Librarian and against Palin’s attempt at out-and-out censorship, so Palin backed down and withdrew her termination letter. People who fought her attempt to oust the Librarian are on her enemies list to this day.

Sarah complained about the “old boy’s club” when she first ran for Mayor, so what did she bring Wasilla? A new set of “old boys”. Palin fired most of the experienced staff she inherited. At the City and as Governor she hired or elevated new, inexperienced, obscure people, creating a staff totally dependent on her for their jobs and eternally grateful and fiercely loyal–loyal to the point of abusing their power to further her personal agenda, as she has acknowledged happened in the case of pressuring the State’s top cop (see below).

As Mayor, Sarah fired Wasilla’s Police Chief because he “intimidated” her, she told the press. As Governor, her recent firing of Alaska’s top cop has the ring of familiarity about it. He served at her pleasure and she had every legal right to fire him, but it’s pretty clear that an important factor in her decision to fire him was because he wouldn’t fire her sister’s ex-husband, a State Trooper. Under investigation for abuse of power, she has had to admit that more than 2 dozen contacts were made between her staff and family to the person that she later fired, pressuring him to fire her ex-brother-in-law. She tried to replace the man she fired with a man who she knew had been reprimanded for sexual harassment; when this caused a public furor, she withdrew her support.

She has bitten the hand of every person who extended theirs to her in help. The City Council person who personally escorted her around town introducing her to voters when she first ran for Wasilla City Council became one of her first targets when she was later elected Mayor. She abruptly fired her loyal City Administrator; even people who didn’t like the guy were stunned by this ruthlessness.

Fear of retribution has kept all of these people from saying anything publicly about her.

When then-Governor Murkowski was handing out political plums, Sarah got the best, Chair of the Alaska Oil and Gas Conservation Commission: one of the few jobs not in Juneau and one of the best paid. She had no background in oil & gas issues. Within months of scoring this great job which paid $122,400/yr, she was complaining in the press about the high salary. I was told that she hated that job: the commute, the structured hours, the work. Sarah became aware that a member of this Commission (who was also the State Chair of the Republican Party) engaged in unethical behavior on the job. In a gutsy move which some undoubtedly cautioned her could be political suicide, Sarah solved all her problems in one fell swoop: got out of the job she hated and garnered gobs of media attention as the patron saint of ethics and as a gutsy fighter against the “old boys’ club” when she dramatically quit, exposing this man’s ethics violations (for which he was fined).

As Mayor, she had her hand stuck out as far as anyone for pork from Senator Ted Stevens. Lately, she has castigated his pork-barrel politics and publicly humiliated him. She only opposed the “bridge to nowhere” after it became clear that it would be unwise not to.

As Governor, she gave the Legislature no direction and budget guidelines, then made a big grandstand display of line-item vetoing projects, calling them pork. Public outcry and further legislative action restored most of these projects–which had been vetoed simply because she was not aware of their importance–but with the unobservant she had gained a reputation as “anti-pork”.

She is solidly Republican: no political maverick. The State party leaders hate her because she has bit them in the back and humiliated them. Other members of the party object to her self-description as a fiscal conservative.

Around Wasilla there are people who went to high school with Sarah. They call her “Sarah Barracuda” because of her unbridled ambition and predatory ruthlessness. Before she became so powerful, very ugly stories circulated around town about shenanigans she pulled to be made point guard on the high school basketball team. When Sarah’s mother-in-law, a highly respected member of the community and experienced manager, ran for Mayor, Sarah refused to endorse her.

As Governor, she stepped outside of the box and put together of package of legislation known as “AGIA” that forced the oil companies to march to the beat of her drum.

Like most Alaskans, she favors drilling in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge. She has questioned if the loss of sea ice is linked to global warming. She campaigned “as a private citizen” against a state initiaitive that would have either a) protected salmon streams from pollution from mines, or b) tied up in the courts all mining in the state (depending on who you listen to). She has pushed the State’s lawsuit against the Dept. of the Interior’s decision to list polar bears as threatened species.
McCain is the oldest person to ever run for President; Sarah will be a heartbeat away from being President.

There has to be literally millions of Americans who are more knowledgeable and experienced than she.

However, there’s a lot of people who have underestimated her and are regretting it.

CLAIM VS FACT

*”Hockey mom”: true for a few years

*”PTA mom”: true years ago when her first-born was in elementary school, not since *”NRA supporter”: absolutely true

*social conservative: mixed. Opposes gay marriage, BUT vetoed a bill that would have denied benefits to employees in same-sex relationships (said she did this because it was unconsitutional).

*pro-creationism: mixed. Supports it, BUT did nothing as Governor to promote it.

*”Pro-life”: mixed. Knowingly gave birth to a Down’s syndrome baby BUT declined to call a special legislative session on some pro-life legislation

*”Experienced”: Some high schools have more students than Wasilla has residents. Many cities have more residents than the state of Alaska. No legislative experience other than City Council. Little hands-on supervisory or managerial experience; needed help of a city administrator to run town of about 5,000.

*political maverick: not at all

*gutsy: absolutely!

*open & transparent: ??? Good at keeping secrets. Not good at explaining actions.

*has a developed philosophy of public policy: no

*”a Greenie”: no. Turned Wasilla into a wasteland of big box stores and disconnected parking lots. Is pro-drilling off-shore and in ANWR.

*fiscal conservative: not by my definition!

*pro-infrastructure: No. Promoted a sports complex and park in a city without a sewage treatment plant or storm drainage system. Built streets to early 20th century standards.

*pro-tax relief: Lowered taxes for businesses, increased tax burden on residents

*pro-small government: No. Oversaw greatest expansion of city government in Wasilla’s history.

*pro-labor/pro-union. No. Just because her husband works union doesn’t make her pro-labor. I have seen nothing to support any claim that she is pro-labor/pro-union.

WHY AM I WRITING THIS?

First, I have long believed in the importance of being an informed voter. I am a voter registrar. For 10 years I put on student voting programs in the schools. If you google my name (Anne Kilkenny + Alaska), you will find references to my participation in local government, education, and PTA/parent organizations.

Secondly, I’ve always operated in the belief that “Bad things happen when good people stay silent”. Few people know as much as I do because few have gone to as many City Council meetings.

Third, I am just a housewife. I don’t have a job she can bump me out of. I don’t belong to any organization that she can hurt. But, I am no fool; she is immensely popular here, and it is likely that this will cost me somehow in the future: that’s life.

Fourth, she has hated me since back in 1996, when I was one of the 100 or so people who rallied to support the City Librarian against Sarah’s attempt at censorship.

Fifth, I looked around and realized that everybody else was afraid to say anything because they were somehow vulnerable.

CAVEATS I am not a statistician. I developed the numbers for the increase in spending & taxation 2 years ago (when Palin was running for Governor) from information supplied to me by the Finance Director of the City of Wasilla, and I can’t recall exactly what I adjusted for: did I adjust for inflation? for population increases? Right now, it is impossible for a private person to get any info out of City Hall–they are swamped. So I can’t verify my numbers.

You may have noticed that there are various numbers circulating for the population of Wasilla, ranging from my “about 5,000″, up to 9,000. The day Palin’s selection was announced a city official told me that the current population is about 7,000. The official 2000 census count was 5,460. I have used about 5,000 because Palin was Mayor from 1996 to 2002, and the city was growing rapidly in the mid-90′s.
