I know a lot of Tennesseans who are barely making it. Many people, even with some money are very close to losing their homes and are becoming unable to feed their families. People are staying at home, instead of their normal forays out into the community. Almost everyone I know has a loved one that is in dire straights and help them whenever they can… financially, with food, taking care of their children, etc.
Food pantries are growing. Many food aid programs for kids, specifically, are seeing rising numbers.
But these same people cannot see the disconnect of the moron, Bailout Bob Corker (the puppet of the Federal Reserve) that they recently elected (AGAIN) in large numbers. How can people be so stupid to support and elect such a lying fool, when it is obvious what the real issues are. Just look where he gets his money and understand that he is protecting the very ones that are causing the problems in this country.
You can see the interview here, but it will make you want to puke, if you understand anything about what this sycophantic numbnuts is saying.
Instead of suggesting that the mega-bailouts to bankers and giant corporations are an issue (no, he gushes praise on the thieving bastards), instead of explaining that the Empire can no longer be supported (meaning that the US military, the world’s BIGGEST “entitlement” program, ever, MUST BE CUT… SUBSTANTIALLY), instead of telling us that the bogus “war on drugs” or the continued support for apartheid Israel is draining us, he says that Medicare, Social Security and Foodstamps must be cut… you know, the “entitlements”. It doesn’t matter that he hasn’t helped bring more jobs to the market and that most of the people I know receiving foodstamps WORK, TOO. Its just that their jobs don’t pay a living wage.
I’m telling you people that what I have been warning you about is coming.
You are about to see massive changes to the help that poor people need. This means that you are about to witness people suffer and die, while we continue the Empire for Israel and maintain the the $BILLIONS poured out to Israel and the tax cuts to the richest of the rich (like Corkwhore).
When you see the invalids, the mentally disabled, the poor old Grandmothers and the most innocent children starve and die, will you say something or do anything? What will it take for you to understand that whores like Corker are in this for other reasons than to help or to represent you, as Tennesseans?
It is already happening in Ohio, as HeartofShadows points out.
And before any fool starts breaking out the charts that show entitlement spending being more than military “defense” spending, remember that we aren’t defending anything except the profits of military providers. At the same time we are sending jobs away to foreign lands, which force workers to utilize whatever assistance they can get. Don’t just mumble the bullshit, “Get a job” when there are so very few jobs to get.
Maybe you are one of those heartless bastards that thinks we need a culling of the “entitlement” users. If so, I hope you are one of the first to go.

Why are millions of harmless people incarcerated for smoking marijuana? Private corporations, whose lobbyists influence lawmakers, are making a killing from the imprisonment of average citizens. This un-American activity must be ended before more lives are wrecked.

Maybe us dumb ole southern rednecks are smarter than you think we are. Mississippi, long ago, decriminalized mara-gee-wana. Many people do not know this. I even pointed out what a tremendous draw it would be for Mississippi tourism, making the state the Number One Tourist destination in America. I also pointed out a Hero in Mississippi who wanted to legalize medical marijuana in Mississippi… State Senator Deborah Dawkins. Which is fitting because Ole Miss actually grows what little marijuana is authorized by the Federal Government for years.
I wrote:
It appears that one redneck Mississippi woman, State Senator Deborah Dawkins, understands what ole Jefferson meant, and wants medical marijuana legalized in Mississippi. She is a hero, since there aren’t many, if any (in Mississippi), ready to address the obvious. Any sane person knows. Any person that has a relative who hurts knows. The only people that don’t know are the ignorant or the ones that profit from its illegality. There are no more in-betweens.
I recently shared with you just who is truly against the legalization initiatives. They pour money in to fight it… and guess what? They are the very ones that PROFIT the most from its continued illegality. Imagine that.
1.) Police Unions: Police departments across the country have become dependent on federal drug war grants to finance their budget. In March, we published a story revealing that a police union lobbyist in California coordinated the effort to defeat Prop 19, a ballot measure in 2010 to legalize marijuana, while helping his police department clients collect tens of millions in federal marijuana-eradication grants. And it’s not just in California. Federal lobbying disclosures show that other police union lobbyists have pushed for stiffer penalties for marijuana-related crimes nationwide.
2.) Private Prisons Corporations: Private prison corporations make millions by incarcerating people who have been imprisoned for drug crimes, including marijuana. As Republic Report’s Matt Stoller noted last year, Corrections Corporation of America, one of the largest for-profit prison companies, revealed in a regulatory filing that continuing the drug war is part in parcel to their business strategy. Prison companies have spent millions bankrolling pro-drug war politicians and have used secretive front groups, like the American Legislative Exchange Council, to pass harsh sentencing requirements for drug crimes.
3.) Alcohol and Beer Companies: Fearing competition for the dollars Americans spend on leisure, alcohol and tobacco interests have lobbied to keep marijuana out of reach. For instance, the California Beer & Beverage Distributors contributed campaign contributions to a committee set up to prevent marijuana from being legalized and taxed.
4.) Pharmaceutical Corporations: Like the sin industries listed above, pharmaceutical interests would like to keep marijuana illegal so American don’t have the option of cheap medical alternatives to their products. Howard Wooldridge, a retired police officer who now lobbies the government to relax marijuana prohibition laws, told Republic Report that next to police unions, the “second biggest opponent on Capitol Hill is big PhRMA” because marijuana can replace “everything from Advil to Vicodin and other expensive pills.”
5.) Prison Guard Unions: Prison guard unions have a vested interest in keeping people behind bars just like for-profit prison companies. In 2008, the California Correctional Peace Officers Association spent a whopping $1 million to defeat a measure that would have “reduced sentences and parole times for nonviolent drug offenders while emphasizing drug treatment over prison.”
I have pointed you to the many law enforcement officials that recognize that the system is rigged AND the Liar-In-Chief that says one thing campaigning, but does another when elected.
But that is nothing new, is it?
The Federal Government will force its brutish self over the state’s rights that places like Washington showed recently.
Did you hear the arguments against made in the video, which rely on issues that have nothing to do with the ballot initiatives (no one is suggesting that children will be allowed to partake)? That “sleight-of-hand”, in and of itself, is telling. As a Doctor told me a few years ago, kids have easy access now and suggested that if one wanted to find marijuana for one’s own healing, just ask a teenager.
No matter, when states vote and pass this type of legislation, there is an almost immediate relief that locals feel.
King County (Washington) dropping misdemeanor marijuana cases
The King County Prosecutor’s Office says it’ll immediately dismiss all of its misdemeanor marijuana possession cases because of the passage of I-502, legalizing marijuana possession of one ounce or less.
So, this will likely be a Federal Government versus State’s Rights showdown. GOOD! About time!
And this doesn’t address all the cities that are passing their own laws of decriminalization (as the above video points out), which includes 90+ in Illinois alone.
My God! Can you imagine the lives saved, the money saved, the lives unharmed by the Police State, the taxes earned, etc. if they would simply stop feeding their prohibition profiteers? It truly is a no-brainer when one considers all the harm created by prohibition.
I have covered this subject for years now and if you are new to the blog, you might want to take some time reading thru the many posts I have published regarding it. I promise you will learn something.
Arkansas voted on legalizing the Devil Weed for medical purposes and barely lost. In 2007, Eureka Springs took it to the brink of legalization:
In November 2007, Eureka Springs voters passed an ordinance directing police and prosecutors to make possession of less than an ounce of marijuana a low law-enforcement priority. Under Arkansas law, such possession is a Class A misdemeanor, which is punishable by up to a year in jail and a $1,000 fine.
In Tennessee this past summer, medical marijuana got a legislative hearing (I pointed this out here), but failed, in spite of some of the most stringently atrocious and antiquated laws against its use in the nation:
Did you know that in Tennessee possession of any amount of marijuana — even as little as a single gram — can land you in prison for up to a year, with a mandatory fine of between $250 and $2,500? Or that there were over 23,000 marijuana-related arrests in Tennessee in 2007, and over 82% of these arrests were for simple possession of small amounts of marijuana? That’s almost 20,000 families impacted by arrest, prosecution, fines, and related effects such as denial of employment or public benefits.
You can read more about the negative consequences of Tennessee’s marijuana laws in this excellent profile by Jon Gettman, Ph.D.
This is particularly offensive when one understands All The Reasons Pot Is Good For You (which include):
Even the National Cancer Institute recognizes its huge benefits for treating the symptoms of cancer.

Arthur Silber called it:
Yeah, I wuz.
I find that … not very interesting, personally. As the returns were coming in, I kept thinking: “Oh, please let Romney win! Puuuhleeeez!” Not, you understand, that I wanted the motherfucker to become president. I don’t want any motherfucker to become president. (See the discussion here, particularly in the second half of the essay, about how profoundly and severely damaged someone has to be to want that kind of power.)
But if Romney had won, that would have meant that I missed something in my analysis. Or didn’t calibrate the different elements involved the right way. Now that would have been interesting to me. I would want to figure out how and why I got it wrong. But … I didn’t. Oh, well. Maybe I’ll make lots of mistakes tomorrow!
Anyway.
Aw, fuck. Honestly, I can’t think of anything else to say at this particular moment. I mean, Jesus H. Fucking Christ. Another four years of this shit?!?!?!?!?!
I called it already over a year ago (tongue in cheek, but there is SOME truth to the post).
But now, after hearing Bro Nat explain that the Jews favor Obama 65% to 24% over Romney, who could question that Obama has it in the bag?
Not that my call was any miracle… hell, the Jews wanted him in, so…
There are some dreamers out there that believe this win for Obama is a mandate to make change. That he should take this opportunity to finally start being a human being and do a few things, you know, humanely. Global Research says that he now can change from his last four years of systematically sucking the balls of the rich to helping the poor (what a dreamer they are). They suggest that Obama should remember how Netanyahu worked against him to get Romney elected and somehow man up and get some revenge… or something.
Seriously now.
I am considering moving to Washington or Colorado, where at least a few sane people live:
Not that it was an easy win for the sane ones. There was some Big Money fighting to stop the initiative:
1.) Police Unions: Police departments across the country have become dependent on federal drug war grants to finance their budget. In March, we published a story revealing that a police union lobbyist in California coordinated the effort to defeat Prop 19, a ballot measure in 2010 to legalize marijuana, while helping his police department clients collect tens of millions in federal marijuana-eradication grants. Cops and prisons folks will have to lay-off workers criminals with badges. The health sick care industry now has to fight REAL medicine. And the poisonous, life-depleting alcohol industry has a safe alternative.
Here is how the law will work in Washington:
This law legalizes the possession of marijuana for adults age 21 and older. The only marijuana that would be legal to sell in this state would be grown by specially-licensed Washington farmers and sold in standalone, marijuana-only stores operated by private Washington businesses licensed and regulated by the state. There would be a 25% sales tax, with 40% of the new revenues going to the state general fund and local budgets, and the remainder dedicated to substance-abuse prevention, research, education and health care. Advertising would be restricted. A new marijuana DUI standard that operates like the alcohol DUI standard would be established.
Not exactly the ideal law for someone like me who knows how to garden and would prefer to grow their own. But it is a start.
I will make another prognostic, crystal ball, bump on the head call:
The Feds will immediately start the fight against the people, for we know that they are not about to give up the Big Money without a fight.

The fact is that hemp is a far better fuel source than corn will ever be. If the government is going to subsidize anything, it should be hemp.
Credit Jack Brammer / Lexington Herald LeaderKentucky Sen. Rand Paul voiced his support Thursday for legalizing industrial hemp. He backs Agriculture Commissioner James Comer efforts.
Agriculture Commissioner James Comer says he is restarting the long-dormant Kentucky Industrial Hemp Commission. The General Assembly created the commission ten years ago to look into hemp’s potential in the commonwealth, but it has never met. This morning, Comer announced that he is reforming the commission and, per state law, he will be the chairman.
“Kentucky has the perfect soil and climate to be the nation’s top producer of industrial hemp. Studies have shown that hemp could be at least the 3rd most profitable crop in Kentucky and our farmers could capture the lion’s share of the industry,” he says.

Prince Ea addresses Barry about his lies and politician’s protection of corporate control, especially the healthcare sickcare industry:
Reality: The Power of Hemp and It’s Countless Uses
I have to take issue with one statement made in this article…Marijuana is NOT addictive. It has none of the typical dependency or withdrawal reactions in the brain like cocaine, heroin or cigarettes. This is a huge misrepresentation of the drug and one of the greatest reasons why it should be legalized.
Cigarettes are HIGHLY addictive, cause everything from DNA damage to heart disease and 9 different forms of cancer, and yet they’re perfectly legal. This makes no sense, but it’s due largely to misunderstanding and often intentional misdirection and obfuscation of the facts.
Lastly, I should note that it’s also not a “gateway drug”. Many of us experimented with marijuana in college, however, not a one of us had any intention of trying other recreational drugs like cocaine or even LSD. In fact, those kids that were “coke heads” were pretty much ostracized.
In regards to marijuana being addicting, it has no chemical/physical addictions, but it can still be addicting since it does provide “good feelings.” It is easy to escape to those good feelings, like many do with other drugs, activities, and things in life. It is not really fair to label marijuana addicting if other things can be addicting in the same premise. For instance, I know people addicted to all sorts of things: processed foods (though they literally can be addicting
), video games, bad habits, or just any random thing that can promote happiness in a person. Parents should not worry about their kids being addicted to weed, but instead be worried if their children have addictive personalities.
Addictive or gateway drug? No, its an “exit drug”, for it is being used by hardcore meth, coke, heroin addicts get off their real problems by using the MEDICINE that history has always shown it to be, except since Anslinger went on the rampage for Big Money.
There’s been a lot of talk back and forth regarding whether marijuana is or is not (as I asserted) addictive. So here are some studies from both sides of the argument:
An extensive list of various studies relating to marijuana: www.marijuana.com/myths
Another review of the literature showing no definitive addiction: www.cannabismd.net/addiction
Marijuana not a “gateway drug”: scienceblog.com/…/study-says-marijuana-no-gateway-drug
A Psychology Today article that says it is mildly addictive (though most related to psychological dependence as opposed to physical dependence): www.psychologytoday.com/blog/the-teenage-mind/201012/is-marijuana-addi..
A rather famous study showing that drug laws actually INCREASE the incidence of drug use: www.mapinc.org/…/limited.pdf
So, you may still believe the lies because you feel the government looks out for your best interest, but if its so bad for us, why did our government patent it in 2003?
Marijuana is so bad for us, the USA patented all the good stuff about it in 2003.
Read the patent:
“Abstract:
Cannabinoids have been found to have antioxidant properties, unrelated to NMDA receptor antagonism. This new found property makes cannabinoids useful in the treatment and prophylaxis of wide variety of oxidation associated diseases, such as ischemic, age-related, inflammatory and autoimmune diseases. The cannabinoids are found to have particular application as neuroprotectants, for example in limiting neurological damage following ischemic insults, such as stroke and trauma, or in thetreatment of neurodegenerative diseases, such as Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease and HIV dementia. …”

Wrong. See pubs.acs.org/…/mp060066m. (August 9, 2006
Copyright © 2006 American Chemical Society) To quote the abstract:
“Here, we demonstrate that the active component of marijuana, Δ9-tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), competitively inhibits the enzyme acetylcholinesterase (AChE) as well as prevents AChE-induced amyloid β-peptide (Aβ) aggregation, the key pathological marker of Alzheimer’s disease. Computational modeling of the THC−AChE interaction revealed that THC binds in the peripheral anionic site of AChE, the critical region involved in amyloidgenesis. Compared to currently approved drugs prescribed for the treatment of Alzheimer’s disease, THC is a considerably superior inhibitor of Aβ aggregation, and this study provides a previously unrecognized molecular mechanism through which cannabinoid molecules may directly impact the progression of this debilitating disease. “
In reality, the undiagnosed leading causes of Alzheimers are toxic neural metal poisoning and MSG, both of which cause excessive neural damage due to excitotoxicity in the brain neural receptors, which cause the brain to have issues. B12 in large doses (5000 mcg+) helps counter the effects and the damage and repair those receptors, especially on the MSG side. That’s also why there is some belief that Alzheimer’s is a form of elderly ASD, because of the metal toxicity commonalities and neural effects in terms of the neural operations (although the physical manifestations vary).

Toking and Driving:
As for the worries of cannabis and driving, although driving under its use is certainly to be discouraged, it does not cause nearly the impairment of alcohol. Our very own federal government reports that driving under the influence of cannabis is generally safer than driving under the influence of alcohol.
– “A low THC dose (100 ug/kg) does not impair driving ability in urban traffic to the same extent as a blood alcohol concentration (BAC) of 0.04g%.”
– “Drivers under the influence of marijuana tend to over-estimate the adverse effects of the drug on their driving quality and compensate when they can; e.g. by increasing effort to accomplish the task, increasing headway or slowing down, or a combination of these.”
– “Drivers under the influence of alcohol tend to under-estimate the adverse effects of the drug on their driving quality and do not invest compensatory effort.”

“Don’t ever think it’s a war on drugs. It’s a war on the blacks. It started as a war on the blacks and it’s now spread to Hispanics and poor whites… it was designed to take that energy coming out of the civil rights movement and destroy it,”
~ Ed Burns, co creator of The Wire
I found long ago that the deck is stacked against black folks. The inner cities have almost nothing to offer kids, so they turn to the one thing that can make them money. This isn’t a “black thing” (white, rich bastards accuse blacks of this because they just can’t stop… “it is their nature”). I say bullshit. It is purposefully done to keep them under control. I know white folks that say its all their fault because they won’t leave, but I have asked in return, what else are they supposed to do? There is no opportunity. Most can’t go to college and at this point, even if they do, what will it get them?
Of course, now, it includes Hispanics and the poor whites. The color no longer really matters. This is why I keep saying that blacks and whites need to stop the bullshit accusations against each other and understand that the divide is a ploy to keep us in this state of poverty and angst. The ones controlling this country know what they are doing and we keep falling for their lies. One of the smartest black men I know was once a friend and I linked to him here for years. But he fell for it, too.
My good buddy, Mo, knows better. He and I are friends and we can talk (even tho he is black as black can be and I am white as white can be). We were able to overcome the lies. As different as we are, we see the ultimate goal as reconciliation and friendship.
The more we, as poor folks, keep at each other, the more the rich thieves dominate, swindle and steal… enriching themselves and keeping us from any decent living and way of life.

I must give credit where credit is due. Have you ever wanted to do a Monster Truck Crush on a cop car? Well, I have, but I admit to being to scared to ever do it. Pion, however, was not.
You have all my respect, Roger. I don’t think, for a second, that he ever meant to harm a soul, so what he is facing is too much.
Something tells me he is pissed over them taking his weed. If he still had some, I doubt he’d ever even try such a thing.
